Eureka, He Says (OOB #1)

This is the first of a collection of short stories and vignettes centered in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, home to one of the few remaining sea-side amusement parks in the Northeast. Common characters will appear in many of the stories, and the effect I'm seeking is similar to Sherwood Anderson's WINESBURG, OHIO, and Sandra Cisneros' THE HOUSE ON MANGO STREET. Quite simply, I'm looking for specifics on what works and what doesn't as far as the story goes. It'd be great if you can react both to the story as a whole and to particular lines and/or images. Also, once I gain some steam, it'd be helpful if readers can comment on how the stories work together to progress a plot line similar to (though different from) a novel's. Many thanks.
