The Foster Princess Part I

Written by: hamann

This is a standard fairy tale with one twist. A young girl is taken from her neglectful mother by the king. The mother had too many children to care for them properly. Further they lived in the old shoe of a giant so the daily smell constitutes abuse. The foster princess appreciates her royal parents but she misses her mother and seems forlorn. A contest is held for the hand of the princess. The man who can coax the most radiant smile will be the winner. A peasant who went to school with our Regina is the victor. The story was written to help illustrate the feelings of children in foster care. There seems to not be much literature for this growing audience. I would like to know if I succeeded and of course whether the tale has broad appeal.
