This is a twisted-history fantasy. I'm posting this despite my test-reader's comment (I can't slander her due to close personal relationship) - she said: "No, I don't get it." Not the end of the world, but a setback. I'm getting so used to writing with a 5000 word limit, I managed to cram it all in, but I had to wonder: is the ending too abrupt? Any comments welcomed.
