Golden Dreams

Golden Dreams is a novel loosely based upon the life of my great great grandfather. Even though it is fictional, it is based upon fact. I discovered the basis of the story while doing my family tree. My research and facts of the story are based upon old family letters, diaries of emigrant pioneers, visiting the family homestead, following and camping along both the California and Oregon trails, and visiting numerous museums and historic sites. The story begins after the panic of 1843 and that was followed by a seven year draught.
