THE CARELESS SPY - Competition Entry
Written by: Storyteller
Most historians list Princess Noor Inayat Khan as one of the most intriguing heroines of the Twentieth Century and rate her near the top along with Mata Hari. She was born inside the Kremlin in 1914 and evolved from infancy into an emotional, naive, careless and beautiful young woman ... hardly the attributes for a future spy. This novel is based upon true events from 1914-1944. Chapter 1 - Noor is sitting in the rear of a spy plane flying over France in 1943. With danger all around, she reminisces about her life when she was much younger. Chapter 2 - is a flashback to 1914 in Moscow with interaction between Rasputin and the Tsarina Alexander. Chapter 3 - Prior to Noor's birth, her parents, living in Peshawar, India, begin an arduous 10,000 mile journey to Russia.
