I'm still tinkering with this story, but hope to get it posted this year and shape it into the type of Young Adult novel that adults enjoy too. Chapters:
![]() | Sorrow's Fallen | l.l. grace | Novel | 4 | n/a | May 15, 2008
Summary:Knighthawk and I are co-writing this "urban fantasy" novel. The main character (Oli) is from my previous novel which some of you may have reviewed. This is a whole new story. We're doing a lot of front-end work - establishing three acts, outlining the scenes, developing and nailing down character arcs and through-lines before doing the real nitty gritty of developing the prose. But we were eager to see your reaction to the "tone" of the story, the prose style, and if you find it compelling. In other words, would you buy it? Any and all feeback is welcomed.Chapters:

Summary:The murderer was already in the house; climbing the steps carefully and silently; he walked to the end of the corridor, for John was in the last room; the door slowly opened and the murderer walked in through the shadows; John Reed was turned to the window, with his back at the door; as the murderer walked in, Reed said: “So you have found me…” “You know what I want. Where is it?” “It’s no longer here. You’re wasting your time.” Angry, the murderer walked to him and stood in front of Reed; without saying anything else, with his bare hands, he put his right hand inside Reed’s chest, squeezing his heart. In a matter of seconds, John Reed was dead.Chapters:

![]() | Chase your Dreams | mikira | Novel | 4 | n/a | Apr 28, 2008
Summary:This is actually a novella that I'm working on for my correspondance course. It was supposed to be a short story, but I feel I can't do the story I have in my mind justice by limiting the length of it. Some of you helped me on it when I was getting the first part ready to submit to my correspondance course mentor. She liked all the discriptive passages I had in the beginning of it, but felt I should start it right as Liliana enters the kitchen after watching Sunraiders morning workout. Please let me know what you feel needs to be added to this scene and if I made Liliana sound 15 years old that was raised to respect her parents. Thanks in advance. You all rock!!! Edit: I readded a revised portion of the old beginning to the story and did a rehaul of the breakfast scene.Chapters:
![]() | Does This Lipgloss Go With My Straightjacket? | kristy_thomas | Novel | 11 | n/a | Apr 23, 2008
Summary:I came up with the perfect excuse for why I'd be spending so much time with Gabe. Okay, so with Sam there could never be a good reason for me spending time with Gabe, but this would have to do: The Tri-County Martial Arts Tournament. I would explain to Sam that I have a burning desire to kick some serious tail at the tourney and Gabe was going to be my own private tutor. Yikes. He would hate it. But it beat telling him the truth. Hey, Sam, guess what? Gabe is actually a higher being. He was sent here to find me. My migraines - well, I've been meaning to tell you this, but I really do see dead people, and all sorts of scary stuff, but it's okay, because you see, Sam, I'm The Seer. That's right, I'm The Seer. And I'm the only thing standing between a race of higher beings that you've never heard of before and utter annihilation. I have to spend hours with Gabe every week because I'm the Obi-Wan to their Princess Leia. I'm their only hope. He'd call for the Straightjacket Brigade immediately. Who'd believe a story like that--especially with a history of mental illness in the family? No, The Tri-County Martial Arts Tournament would have to do.Chapters:
![]() | NORA'S FAREWELL | brosna11 | Novel | 7 | n/a | Apr 21, 2008
Summary:Nora, a young woman in rural Ireland, lives through the Irish Rising, World War I and the influenza epidemic before she reaches adulthood. Her large family and her village are important to her but her goal is to see Ireland free of British rule. This story began as "Kilkenny Curse" but after some revision, became "Nora's Farewell". So many reviewers have helped me edit this that I owe a great debt to all of you. I am revising it still at this date (October 18, 2007)and reposting some chapters, as necessary. Other chapters will just be revised. One has been cut entirely. This novel is based partly on family history and partly on historical opinion as found in a variety of sources. There is quite a bit of folklore here as well. President Kennedy's assassination is predicted by a prophetic spirit in a cave in Kilkenny. (A bit of folklore I invented but some of the Fitzgerald lore already exists.) Brosna11Chapters:

![]() | The Bitch Brigade of Bridgeton (title change) | jediprincess | Novel | 0 | n/a | Apr 11, 2008
Summary:When a shy, black, ballerina from a poor neighborhood is thrust into the affluent yet equally dangerous world of the prestigious Bridgeton academy, she is forced to overcome her insecurities in order to defeat the three most ruthless and vindictive girls in the school. I have an agent for this book and I'm on my final edit before he submits it to a publisher. Any help is welcome. Even chapter jumpers are welcome if you comment on grammar, especially commas and verb tense, and whether the overall writing style hooks you. Also, if chapter jumpers could comment specifically on what I can do to make it more engaging, that would be greatly appreciated. Please note: You never find out the main character's name. Not until book three anyway.Chapters:
![]() | The Vampire Hunter | Born Writer | Short Story | 8 | 1.25 | Apr 10, 2008
Summary:This is really more for a middle grade audience and is a humorous tale. It's about one of those staple teen protagonists, Abbie (who happens to have an funny bodily issue), who is tired of being picked on by the school biatch, Dylan, and decides to give her a taste of her own medicine. I wrote this for fun and I hope you like it. Feel free to comment at will. As any writer should, I can take it.Chapters:
