Summary:

A retired homicide detective, Dan Farro, moves to a small coastal town to get away from the city he was born and raised in. He's had enough of law enforcement and decided stay as far away from police works as possible. Months later, the Sheriff, whom he met when he applied for gun carry permit, asks him to help as an adviser with an unusual case for the small town of Lord's Beach, a murder in rich man's beach house. The victim is a college student, who was not supposed to be there, who was stabbed by an ancient Cambodian ceremonial Kukris. At first, he is reluctant, but the Sheriff's persists and Farro's investigation uncovers a museum theft which leads him to discover an international espionage plot to steal a secret United States Navy device meant to hide surface vessels from satellite surveillance. General consensus is welcome. Flow, interest, character, decrip, etc. Here are some things you dont have to point out: I dont have a setting nailed down. So, while I describe surroundings, I dont name towns/locations yet cuz I have yet to choose them, including military posts. The military deets will be a last step to research. The story should still be able to flow around these missing details since they dont play a focal role anyhow.
