|Northern Skies (most likely)||janet reid||Novel||4||n/a||Oct 24, 2014|
Summary:Summary: When Catherine’s younger brother gets involved in a plot to murder a powerful lord – and trusted friend and ally of their family – she is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that neither one of them loses their ability to breathe. Already a tough ask given the prevailing situation of the 16th century English-Scottish border where raids, feuds, robberies, blackmail, arson, kidnapping, murder and extortion by people from all social classes are part of everyday life, getting involved and falling in love with said lord only complicates an already difficult situation even further. Specific feedback: - Too little/too much/too confusing background information - Any grammar/spelling/punctuation mistakes (looking at all the English teachers out there!) - Any consistency/flow/telling-instead-of-showing problems This is my first effort, ever, so any and all feedback will be appreciated. Thanks! Janet

|Earthly Force||PByrd||Novel||2||n/a||Oct 22, 2014|
Summary:The feedback I'm looking for with this first part is: Does the prologue, chapter 1, and chapter 2 flow appropriately? The prologue is 15-years earlier from the present which is chapter 2, yet chapter 1 occurs in the year 902. Does this drastic change in timeline throw the reader out of the story? STORY SUMMARY: Phoebe Morris is one in a set of demigod quintuplets that are Mother Nature’s Elements. She funnels Earth’s energy and the amount of power she has to control weighs heavily on her shoulders. Static electricity has been her lifelong curse because her touch zaps others like a hot cattle fence. Phoebe visits her sister Elizabeth in NYC and stumbles over her dream man. Literally. When he touches her to help her off the floor without flinching, she knows he’s the man for her. However, she cannot reach her full potential or love completely as an Earth Element until she learns to quit trying to control but to direct the earth’s energy. After 500-years of searching, Jarad Vanderwulf has finally met his one true mate and its in the middle of a werewolf revolution. Wolves have been allowed to terrorize humans for far too long and he has to bring order to the Nation or risk exposure to the humans. Timing is bad. Can he protect her and overcome the challenges of leading a nation or will he have to choose one over the other? When Phoebe becomes a target to weaken his defenses, they flee NYC to her hometown in Alabama. The mystical Kinlock Shelter, deep within Bankhead National Forest, provides the ideal secluded area to stage the battle. Jarad quickly learns that Phoebe is the force of nature he’ll need to win the war but he’s made a fatal mistake in keeping information hidden from her. Phoebe questions if she can truly love someone who willfully deceived her. She must face his lies of omission and decide if he can be trusted with their future.
|Big Hearts - 2nd Draft rewrite||MrsPiddles||Novel||1||n/a||Oct 22, 2014|
Summary:It wasn't enough that reckless snowmobile riders smashed into Kimber Blackwell's champion team of Belgian draft horses and her antique sleigh full of happy children. It wasn't enough that the horrible accident not only killed her beautiful horses, it also killed her husband, Tim - soul mate and high school sweetheart, and caused her late term miscarriage. The wreck also caused the death of a ten year old child riding in the sleigh. Cold hearted ambulance chasing lawyers, representing the injured parties, realizing that Kimber had been the sole heir to a three hundred acre horse farm in the rich farmland of Pennsylvania, complete with an estate built over three generations, would not settle for mere insurance payments. They took everything. Now Kimber must find herself before she can come to terms with her loss. How can she overcome her irrational fears and learn to trust, to find love again when all she can see is the memory of Tim? I've listened carefully to advice and suggestions. Every word of critique is important to me, whether you simply respond with your opinion of the piece, or line edit and pick the chapter to it's bones. The best writing can only be revealed with strong critique. Thank you for your continued support of Kimber.
|Rocket Baby||KHippolite||Novel||1||n/a||Oct 20, 2014|
Summary:On the eve of a dangerous mission, Catherine Starsong broke the rules and fell in love. It was a misstep she would undo if she could. --------------------------------- It becomes necessary at this point to revise the story into yet another draft (kind of a third draft now) due to surprisingly good suggestions from reviewers. If you've read the opening chapters before, you should wait until I pass you in the rewrites rather than have to restart -> all events that occurred before still occur... they just happen differently. --------------------------------- All types of reviews are useful, but I will probably rewrite twice more after this, so the big stuff is the most useful (eg where are you most confused, bored, outside of the story, etc)
|Cassandra and Casanova||Nathan B. Childs||Novel||2||n/a||Sep 29, 2014|
Summary:This is only three chapters long. I didn't want to post these chapters as individual short stories. All comments welcome
|A Tale of Two Sydneys||simisez||Novel||3||n/a||Sep 10, 2014|
Summary:Romance? Maybe. Humor? Hopefully. A family story. It's my first novel, so any and all insights and advice is appreciated. There will be a glossary of Yiddush terms supplied at the end, but hopefully the context will explain most of the terminology.
|Beyond the Fence||penang||Novel||4||n/a||Jul 23, 2014|
Summary:Trying to decide if I should move forward with this as a young adult novel or adult novel. As of right now, this is a futuristic, life on another planet, fantasy story :)
