![]() | Taken In By Wolves | sisterwolf | Novel | 0 | n/a | May 23, 2013
Summary:Jessica is a journalist for a nature magazine. She takes a new mysterious story about wolves. She is excited about taking on a new adventure. She has always been interested in wolves. Little does she realize what this new adventure has in store for her and that it will change her to the very core of her being. This is my first attempt at a novel. Would like to get as much constructive criticism as possible. I am trying to study my grammar and get better at it. Please be kind.Chapters:
![]() | Bluenose Intrigues - Tilting at Windmills | alkemi | Novel | 2 | n/a | May 21, 2013
Summary:A grizzly murder introduces newly recruited detective Simon Goodyear to the peaceful little town of Barrettsport and sends him on a three month long search for a master manipulator who entangles much of the town in his nefarious schemes. Along the way, the town, a school teacher and a young graphic artist draw Simon into their much more personal intrigues. This story is both a romance and a mystery. I really appreciate all the comments I've had from reviewers, and have made numerous changes that I think have improved the story. I feel like I've added a googolplex of commas (I know that's not possible), and look forward to some new reviews of the revised text.Chapters:

![]() | BUZZARD BAIT | Ann Everett | Novel | 6 | n/a | May 18, 2013
Summary:This is the third installment in my Tizzy/Ridge Trilogy. Oh Lord...why did I ever agree to write a series of three books about the same characters? It seemed like a good idea at the time, but now, not so much. Any help you offer will be greatly appreciated. At the recommendation of an agent I met with a few weeks ago, I've changed the genre from humor to mystery.Chapters:

![]() | A Murder In Marchen: A Jack Rabbit Mystery | Jack_Rabbit | Novel | 2 | n/a | May 15, 2013

Jack Rabbit and his partner Hunt Lapsis, race to stop a murderer, while discovering that not all is as it seems and fairy tales may in fact be true. This novel is nearly complete and will come in around the 70,000 word mark. My best guess is I will have it fully edited and ready for createspace publishing by Mid-June. Seeking some feedback on content and how many chapters would an author usually post on a website such as this.Chapters:
![]() | Head Count-Strongest Start Seven | Janet Taylor-Perry | Novel | 1 | n/a | May 11, 2013
Summary:Who could know counting heads would be so dangerous? Laura Beth Copeland, the stay-home mother of two and half, decides to become a census-taker just for the experience. When she discovers a decapitated head at one of her canvassing addresses, she is catapulted into a fight for her life. Upon finding only the head of a witness against a drug lord, Laura Beth becomes the hit man’s next target. Thinking she can identify him, Laura Beth first receives warnings to remain quiet. When she cooperates with police, the assassin targets her. Investigation shows the killer has ties far up the political ladder and the head count mounts as every witness in a federal case has already been eliminated. FBI moves in to try and catch the killer and protect Laura Beth. Their attempts prove to be in vain. Laura Beth’s husband is killed and she is taken into protective custody. Laura Beth goes on the lam with the local police detective, Tanner McGill. Weeks spent together create a spark that will smolder for a while. By the time the killer is identified, it becomes apparent that he himself is only a pawn and the real criminal links all the way the State Department of the United States. Multiple branches of law enforcement join together to find the real culprit and save an innocent woman. Standing at approximately 54,000 words, Head Count is a romantic suspense set in the smallish town of Sunrise, Mississippi. Head Count is a novel to bridge literacy gaps. It is easy to read and tells an enticing story, sure to captivate young and old, male and female. Come along and enjoy the ride in this first book of an intended four involving an ordinary person in extraordinary circumstances who rises to the challenge. This is the story that finished as a finalist in Novel in Progress category at the 2012 Faulkner competition. This story came to me when I worked the 2010 census and had a woman slam her door in my face. I began to wonder why she was so adverse to being counted. What did she have to hide? I went back and saw her feet through her blinds, but she would not answer the door. You will see that I have a vivid imagination as the head count mounts in this story.Chapters:

Summary:Synopsis Benji Jensen is a young man with a bright future, doted on by his wealthy grandmother. So when Grandma Ruth asks him to exact revenge for an old family wrong, the death of Benji’s father, Benji readily agrees. Grandma Ruth had done all the planning, and found the perfect opportunity – what could go wrong? Benji is plunged into an increasingly bizarre set of adventures mirroring Murphy’s Law, where the simplest things go wrong; where nothing is ever quite as it seems, and where everyone keeps secrets. Desperate to make sense of the confusion that has become his life, Benji seeks out an elderly aunt who had been estranged from his family. From his aunt, Benji learns of his family’s checkered past, and that Grandma Ruth has a very personal reason to hate the man she blames for Benji’s father’s death. This is being rewritten after the first draft showed me what the story actually was.Chapters:

Summary:This a re-post. I didn't get a lot of views the first time around (only about 10 actually, it says 30, but at least half of those were me) so I was hoping to get some more feedback this time. I didn't change much. I fixed some errors that my original reviewers mentioned and I added a paragraph at the end. Thanks! This is my take on an expressionist-crime story about a dead man who wanders the world in search of his killer. It's part of a collection of short stories I'm writing between work and law school. Hope you enjoy it.Chapters:

Summary:This is a possible submission for an anthology of short mystery stories (3000 words or less) to be published by the Twin Cities Sisters In Crime group. The theme is "Minnesota festivals." I'm not sure if there is enough focus on the idea of "festivals" here... it's a lot to ask in 3000 words - plot, characters, Minnesota festivals and a mystery! Some of you may have read an earlier version called A Simple Life, if so, thanks for reading again!Chapters:
![]() | The Fall (2nd rewrite) | aekronberg | Novel | 4 | n/a | Mar 22, 2013
Summary:This is the sequel to "The Devil's Grin", a Victorian crime novel published in September 2012 and workshopped here. Although being a sequel, this novel should be able to stand alone. The heroine - Anna Kronberg - is a German woman who is hiding in the Sussex Downs until she is abducted and used for the development of germ warfare by London's greatest criminal, James Moriarty.Chapters:
