|RED DESTINY (The Roughhewn World)||knighthawk||Novel||1||n/a||Dec 9, 2013|
Summary:Murkana Dawn, Captain of the Rimarran Dragoons, was born to fight, but sworn to justice. Three years ago the fame that came with the poems her comrade and chief scout, Dolos Gyall, composed to celebrate her numerous military triumphs compelled her jealous superiors to banish her and Gyall to the southernmost border of the Kingdom of Rimar, tasked with patrolling the brutal Yanos Desert against incursion by their Abissaran neighbors to the south and the fierce and wild Yanos Clansmen for whom raiding is a way of life. Now Yanos Clansmen have rampaged across the countryside, kidnapped a mysterious girl, and fled back into Abissarra, knowing it is forbidden for Murkana, Gyall, and the Dragoons to follow, but the denizens of the Yanos are about to learn the hard way why they call Murkana and Gyall, Black Dawn and Madlaugher.
|Ghost Dance||Don_P_Chambers||Novel||3||n/a||Dec 9, 2013|
Summary:Have you ever woken from a dream with a great idea for a story, even if you're already working on another one? That's what happened here. I'm about half way through writing one novel that's being workshopped here, and suddenly I have to write this one. So I started it, and I've got the first five chapter written. Now I'd like feedback on whether this is a waste of time, or should I continue. I woud classify this as an urban fantasy; boy meets girl; girl can jump between two worlds, but has lost her way home; boy helps her back in a very interesting way. I'll warn you, there is sex here, and it happens early (Chapter 2). It's a little graphic, but not too much. So if you don't like that, you've been warned. I would like feedback on whether you think sex that early would be a turn-off to some readers - I doubt I will change it, but I could make it a little less graphic. Anyway, hope you enjoy. Don
|The Acts of Academia||amy s||Novel||1||n/a||Dec 8, 2013|
Summary:Anver Firson is a mage in a school. As Chief Apprentice, he should be running a class or two and mediating problems amongst the students. Then Master Kha is injured, leaving Anver alone to keep the school alive. The students depend on him, otherwise they might be divided between the other Masters. This can't be permitted because some of the other teachers are cruel, self-centered and just plain bad at teaching. Master Kha was the only one who accepted children. What happens to the Littles if Anver fails? A mystery unravels in the school. Secrets are revealed. Politics are everywhere as the other Master's use Anver's vulnerabilities against him. This is the price of education in the medieval world. Welcome to the world of magical academia!
|The Secret of Murinar||Unbar||Novel||3||n/a||Dec 4, 2013|

|Journey To Landaran||Judy Goodwin||Novel||2||n/a||Dec 3, 2013|
Summary:Aidah and Tavish, twins and troublemakers extraordinaire, may have bitten off more than they can swallow when strange things begin to happen around them. They already know part of the problem--Tavish is a firestarter. But Aidah has shown no Talent as of yet, though there has been hope since she was born that she might carry the rare Talent of Spirit Magic. Far away in the city of Landaran lives their Grandess Korva, Protector of the Doane the greatest Spirit Mage of the land. In the mountain village, Aidah and Tavish's lives have never been touched by the war that has raged between the Doane and the Innis Empire for over two hundred years. That's about to change. Note: This is my latest project--I'm working on the last few chapters now, but thought I'd get moving on having others look at the earlier chapters. This will be the first book of a five book series. I caution readers that there are some darker issues tackled in this book, including rape and child abuse. All types of criticism are welcome--this has not gone through a lot of editing yet. Thanks!
|The Sorcerer's Progress, Vol 1: Children and Beasts||njc||Novel||0||n/a||Dec 1, 2013|
Summary:More of the story's themes are going to come out as I continue to post, so I'll give you the full (provisional) titles so far: The Sorcerer's Progress/Account I: Original Sin/Section 1: Ceremony of Innocence/Volume 1: Children and Beasts. Sorry to confuse all who've reviewed it so far. The repub's and new chapters forthcoming will bring in Mellaen's activities while her daughter is in training. Massive action will still wait a while. This story is (still) in its early project stage. I'm working on the outline of a story that should WELL exceed 200,000 words. As I go, I write episodes and sections to see how they work--and to see if I can actually handle the material. So these "chapters" are episodes, connected or disconnected. I'll try to give you enough background to follow along with things. Although it's under the fantasy genre, I prefer to call it a story set in a fantasy world. It's quasi-medieval; sorcery is a surrogate for medicine and technology. This isn't the magic of Harry Potter; it's the manipulation of Elemental Power present "naturally." I quote the word because there is a creation myth involved. I'm not sure how far into the story it will be presented.
|CABLE HORNMAN: SECRET OF THE DRUIDS||C Lee Brown||Novel||1||n/a||Nov 26, 2013|

|Unraveled - working title||SquarePeg||Novel||1||n/a||Nov 24, 2013|
Summary:ROUGH start to the 3rd (& final) book in my fantasy series. Input keeps me going. Especially looking for ideas on ways to expand the story.
|Warrior's Touch||Soulhaven||Novel||3||n/a||Nov 18, 2013|
Summary:Please note: This is a Book 2 to my already published "Healer's Touch" by Deb E. Howell. I am interested in feedback from people who haven't read book 1 as much as from those who may have. I hope people *can* jump straight into Book 2, but that may not be possible to do without ruining it for fans of Book 1... Guess I shall find out! At this stage, I'm most interested in broad comments: Things that are working, things that aren't, where you get bored, how you feel about the characters, what you'd like to know more about...
|The Arch of Peresephalon||seabrass||Short Story||4||2.98||Nov 7, 2013|
Summary:This is a short story I posted about two years ago. I recently dusted it off and tweaked some of the big flaws. The main character now has a new motivation for doing what he does. Hopefully it works a lot better. I also made a few minor changes. I'll be curious to hear what readers new and old think of it now. What is it about? This is the blurb I put together earlier this afternoon: When my father died in the mines, I fled my home village, chased away by village elders, forced to abandon my mother and sister to their fates. A year-long journey brought me to what I wanted most: an end to everything. Crossing over the Arch of Peresephalon would bring me to a new land, and probably a dark end. But I had nothing left here. Then a chance encounter with an old man waiting for a young woman to come back from the Beyond made me realize the journey was not one way. And when I stepped foot in the Beyond, I discovered I now had something very few would ever have. Something that might help me free my mother and sister. So I started back across the Arch. Alone. My only problem? The Arch of Peresephalon, built by the gods, always demands a sacrifice...
|A Sense of Sacrifice (The Law of Eight: Book III)||Nicholas Andrews||Novel||1||n/a||Nov 1, 2013|
Nerris and Len-Ahl continue to traverse the Faery Footpath. But all is not well. Qabala and her minions have stolen the Dagger of Paral, leaving them with no knowledge on how to find the next marker. The only solution is to chase the Yagol queen down, but how to do that when they keep getting sidetracked?
The quest for the Elemental Stone continues in the third part of this epic series. Finding that stone is the only way to stop Queen Qabala and Eversor from dominating existence itself, if they can get to it first. But as they near their journey's end, Nerris must confront the very ghosts of his past and find some way to live with them in the present before they destroy his fellowship for good.
|The Immortal's Ransom||TELawrence||Novel||2||n/a||Oct 25, 2013|
Summary:This is the sequel to Stolen Destiny, and continues the story of Blaine, a young man who changes the course of history.
|CLOSURE||seabrass||Novel||6||n/a||Oct 25, 2013|
Summary:CLOSURE is an urban fantasy novella that's been brewing in my mind for some time now. It deals with a son's desperate efforts to break the stagnation that's overtaken his mother in the year since his sister's sudden death. His efforts are thwarted by a state investigator nearing the end of her career and looking for one final score before she loses her telepathic abilities. When his plans unravel, Whicker has only days to come up with an alternative; otherwise he and his mother will surely and truly die. I welcome any and all feedback, and will usually reciprocate within a day or two, as I need my own stash of credits to keep posting. Also, yeah, there are some unusual words. Rest assured, I will explain everything as I go along. I have all novella.
|Abomination (A sequel to Watcher)||SquarePeg||Novel||1||n/a||Oct 21, 2013|
