|Journey To Landaran||Judy Goodwin||Novel||1||n/a||Apr 22, 2014|
Summary:Aidah and Tavish, twins and troublemakers extraordinaire, may have bitten off more than they can swallow when strange things begin to happen around them. They already know part of the problem--Tavish is a firestarter. But Aidah has shown no Talent as of yet, though there has been hope since she was born that she might carry the rare Talent of Spirit Magic. Far away in the city of Landaran lives their Grandess Korva, Protector of the Doane the greatest Spirit Mage of the land. In the mountain village, Aidah and Tavish's lives have never been touched by the war that has raged between the Doane and the Innis Empire for over two hundred years. That's about to change. Note: This is my latest project--I'm working on the last few chapters now, but thought I'd get moving on having others look at the earlier chapters. This will be the first book of a five book series. I caution readers that there are some darker issues tackled in this book, including rape and child abuse. All types of criticism are welcome--this has not gone through a lot of editing yet. Thanks!
|Death Watch||Sideman||Novel||3||n/a||Apr 17, 2014|
Summary:George McCutcheon unwillingly becomes the custodian of the "Death Watch" Should it ever run down and cease ticking, it will be the end of the world, as the Death Watch is the instrument that controls all mortal time. Various duties are incurred as the custodian of the watch. If George fails to do any of them correctly,or fails to wind the watch, it will cease to tick. Follow George on a desperate journey when the watch falls from his possession and the word gets darker and colder each day. If he doesn't find it within eight days, life on Earth is forever gone. For your reference, according to the U.S Bureau of Standards and Measurements, $1.00 in 1836 would be equal to $33.00 today. That might might help you to make sense of the money amounts mentioned throughout the book.
|The Sorcerer's Progress, Vol 1: Children and Beasts||njc||Novel||3||n/a||Apr 7, 2014|
Summary:More of the story's themes are going to come out as I continue to post, so I'll give you the full (provisional) titles so far: The Sorcerer's Progress/Account I: Original Sin/Section 1: Ceremony of Innocence/Volume 1: Children and Beasts. Sorry to confuse all who've reviewed it so far. The repub's and new chapters forthcoming will bring in Mellaen's activities while her daughter is in training. Massive action will still wait a while. This story is (still) in its early project stage. I'm working on the outline of a story that should WELL exceed 200,000 words. As I go, I write episodes and sections to see how they work--and to see if I can actually handle the material. So these "chapters" are episodes, connected or disconnected. I'll try to give you enough background to follow along with things. Although it's under the fantasy genre, I prefer to call it a story set in a fantasy world. It's quasi-medieval; sorcery is a surrogate for medicine and technology. This isn't the magic of Harry Potter; it's the manipulation of Elemental Power present "naturally." I quote the word because there is a creation myth involved. I'm not sure how far into the story it will be presented.
|The Sleep Wool Sagas||TeddyP||Novel||0||n/a||Apr 7, 2014|
Summary:Hi everyone, I took a long break from writing, inter alia to greet the arrival of our second child, a girl called Mary! So I have returned to Sleep Wool - can't leave it alone. For those who have read it before you will see that I have changed many of the names of the protagonists and places. The story remains basically the same - that chaos descends on the human world when some sleep dust is stolen from the nearby community of sprites. A young sprite called Andrabel sets about proving that a newly arrive imp called Sedge is responsible for the chaos. Time will tell whether her initial prejudice against Sedge was well founded. Her first priority is to bring human harmony back to the village of Brokenford. I have tried to introduce more tension into the plot, so grateful for any and all comments, however nitty. For those who haven't read Sleep Wool before - Enjoy! Really interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks and best wishes. Ted
|Vessels- Book 1: World Guardians||Xander Barry Leon||Novel||2||n/a||Apr 5, 2014|

For they don't know who the other eight are just that they are one of the nine. From different parts of the world these four will start to find out that they are not the only ones with dark secrets that have made them become outcast even in their own homes.
|The True Story of the Invention of Camouflage||MrsPiddles||Short Story||3||0.68||Apr 4, 2014|
Summary:This story revealed itself to me while I crocheted a camo afghan for my grandson. I actually started the project with a standard (scratchy) yarn, then I found a baby soft brand with a woodland camouflage pattern. So of course I had to make matching father/son afghans. (My son in law, who is an avid hunter, is about to retire from the Army. He's served four tours in Iraq and Afghanistan) It occurs to me that this may turn into a YA novel, or maybe even a picture book. I appreciate you stopping by to read and I welcome your comments and suggestions. Mostly I'm interested in your first reaction and if you consider this to be a viable story line.

|The Immortal's Ransom||TELawrence||Novel||1||n/a||Mar 18, 2014|

|Unraveled - working title||SquarePeg||Novel||1||n/a||Mar 14, 2014|

|Ghost Dance||Don_P_Chambers||Novel||2||n/a||Mar 10, 2014|
Summary:Have you ever woken from a dream with a great idea for a story, even if you're already working on another one? That's what happened here. I was halfway through writing one novel also being workshopped here, and suddenly I had to write this one.
It's an urban fantasy/mystery; boy meets girl; girl can jump between two worlds, but has lost her way home; boy helps her back in a very interesting way. Girl asks boy to help find her brother.
I'll warn you, there is sex here, and it happens early (Chapter 2). It's a little graphic, but not too much. So if you don't like that, you've been warned. I would like feedback on whether you think sex that early would be a turn-off to some readers - I doubt I will change it, but I could make it a little less graphic.
Update: 9 Feb 2014. I'm starting to revise the first part in preparation for beginning the second part, incorporating fixes for nits and other suggestions from all the great reviews. I'll update the Chapters here as a go.
