 | The Narcissist | dagnee | Novel | Commercial Fiction | 19 | n/a | Oct 29, 2011 |
Summary:This is an evolving work, the chapters are disjointed and I think it's pretty much a mess right now. I want readers to know this is more of an outline of what the finish product will be. When I get to shaping that outline into something intelligible is anyone's guess. Thanks for reading. Story summary: This is a story of a woman who found her idea of a perfect man in two abusive relationships. She goes from denial to realization to resolution in one week. It isn't pretty. Anything you can suggest to make it flow better and make sense I will appreciate. dags:) Chapters: |
 | Under the Almond Trees | Ann Walters | Novel | Historical Fiction | 12 | n/a | Apr 14, 2011 |
Summary:This book tells the stories of three amazing women who lived in northern California in the early 1900s. Ellen VanValkenburgh was a suffragette who inspired Susan B. Anthony enough to be used as an example in the more famous woman's speeches of 1872. Her granddaughter, Eva VanValkenburgh, was one of the first women to own a photography business in California. Her early images of Inverness are prized today. Eva's aunt Emily Williams was a reknowned architect. Together with her life partner, coppersmith Lillian Palmer, they built homes in three counties.
I APOLOGIZE TO READERS WHO ARE IN THE MIDDLE! I REARRANGED THE CHAPTERS SO THAT THEY ARE IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER SO THAT ALL OF ELLEN'S STORY COMES FIRST. DOES THIS WORK BETTER? ONCE YOU FIND YOUR SPOT, THAT IS?Chapters: |
 | Rise! (A Woman Poem) | Ellis | Poetry | Poetry | 19 | 1.52 | Feb 3, 2011 |
Summary:To every woman. In every city. In every country. On every continent. From Wales to Wall Street. From New York to New England, Alabama to Australia. To women who have crossed the lines to shape an uncertain world. To Maya Angelou, Eleanor Roosevelt, Fannie Lou, Lady Bird Johnson, Rosa Parks, Princess Diana and too many women to mention, women who are up and women who are down. This baffled world can Rise no higher than you are uplifted. We have only run the first lap in the long marathon of hope and we brace ourselves for the second lap. I hope this poem increases your hope and courage.Chapters: |

Summary:After her grandmother, Jenessa, flees her home in terror, Anna takes over as the caretaker of the property. Only 18 years old, and having just left an abusive home, Anna soon finds that the troubles she'd experienced up to now were nothing compared to what waits for her at The House on Miller Street. NOTE: I am new to writing and appreciate any suggestions on nits/flow/characterization, etc.

Summary:This is the monologue of a comedian who is doing his first performance on stage about meeting a girl on Match.com. I would like ideas on how to make it more humorous, and whether some of the "valley girl" language has to be removed to make it sound more like a male comedian. Also, let me know if it's R or PG.Chapters: |
 | Vicarious | Ocean Archer | Novel | Thrillers | 2 | n/a | Aug 5, 2010 |
Summary: Vicarious is chick-lit on steroids married to guy-spy thriller on Midol. The result is PMS meets AK47 where barbs fly faster than bullets.
Avery Bonelli was an investigative journalist with Pulitzer ambitions until Logan Nash destroyed her credibility and made her Chiquita non grata in the journalism world. Now he's back with a bullet in his shoulder and a scoop that can put her back in the big leagues. All she has to do is stay alive.
When an international terrorist escapes justice on a technicality, the country wants blood. Avery just wants the exclusive … and Logan has it. He also has ulterior motives, a familiar hazard when fraternizing with the Y chromosome. But having just broken off an engagement, Avery has no interest in Logan’s pecs … or his 21st digit.
But you can’t go cold-turkey on men. Not when Ben & Jerry are calling your name from the frozen foods aisle and Logan's the one holding the scoop.
Avery is about to uncover the truth behind the terrorist trial, which threatens a political conspiracy that permeates every branch of government, from the FBI to the White House. Assassins are gunning for her and she doesn’t know why. The only guns she carries are a pair of 34Bs in a Victoria’s Secret holster. She’s forced to get Logan’s help. They break into a maximum-security stronghold, steal top-secret research, and run for their lives. Caught between a terrorist and a military commando, Avery will have to trust her life to the man who just might want her dead. Chapters: |

 | Rhiannon's Ordeal | rhiannon | Novel | Fantasy | 10 | n/a | Jun 29, 2009 |
Summary:A Re-boot of the Rhiannon series. It rewrites the first Rhiannon story (published elsewhere)The Gorgon. It is deliberately inconsistent with other stories published or workshopped. Rhiannon is more complicated, Rosalyn has a different status, it is in 3rd person. It has themes of transformation, the loss and reclamation of important things (although they are not what the characters or readers think at first). A word on its setting: this is not set in medieval Europe. It takes place on a world that is about 11th century in terms of its social and technological development, but is 30 lightyears away from Earth, which is occupied by a world (Terra) with 21st century development. It takes place in our future, but in that world's (worlds') past. One culture is corrupted by Terran society, others are not. Oddities like the characters using slang from the US c. 2009 is thus explained. It is the tale of the fall and rise of Rhiannon, the ever so great descendent of the lengendary woman/goddess of the same name. All feedback is appreciated. Thank you.Chapters: |

I doubt I'd live long enough to write that book and it would probably weigh a lot, so she'll have to be happy with this. The first four statements or questions were really said to her - three by her husband.
Nicole, this one's for you and I'll be happy to testify on your behalf at your trial.
