Summary:In the sea of responsible, driven, hard-working Ivy League students, Serena Weller doesn’t stand out, but she’s had years of practice blending in. And she has a lot to hide.
Demon cursed into immortality with the ability to see and feel other people’s pain, she’s watched too many people suffer, grow old, and die, including the one man she truly loved. But when people start dying in vampire attacks in New York City, she knows she can’t just sit by and do nothing.
Forced to confront aspects of her past, long buried, Serena finds herself thrown in with a young, and sexy, werewolf and immersed in an underground world of things that go bump in the night and a whole lot of trouble.
Any criticism is appreciated!Chapters: |

Summary:Okay, so first this probably falls into the urban fantasy/romance section. Here's my summary:
Thousands of years ago demons were imprisoned in Tartarus, the deepest and darkest realm of Hell, only granted leave when summoned by magic, where they continually seek chaos and destruction. All that stands in their way is a group of nine vampire warriors.
Eadbert Zarathustra, known to his brothers as EZ, has always been the most reckless of the warriors, throwing himself haphazardly into the demons’ paths. But after almost killing himself during the brotherhood’s last mission, he is sent to find the daughter of one of his fallen comrades who is a unique half vampire. Unwittingly, he finds himself enamored with her roommate who is all too human. But his attraction to her puts her life at risk, and he is forced to sacrifice everything he knows in order to save her.
Deanna Russell Devereaux has never been normal. From her first awareness, she has been able to sense the thoughts and feelings of people around her. Equally terrified and intrigued to the tall dark stranger who emerges out of the shadows and kidnaps her and her best friend, she worries he might be the death of her. But when she is mistaken for someone else and taken hostage by a group of vampires hunters, she dreams of him, both hoping and fearing he will come to rescue her.
Any feedback is appreciated :)
My title is terribly unoriginal so if you can think of anything better, feel free to let me know.

 | STATIC MAYHEM | Sherman_Bierce | Novel | Other | 18 | n/a | Aug 18, 2006 |
Summary:Two forces drive Harrison Cody to trek from New England to Chicago on foot: a bewildering pixie named Glimmer, and Claudia, the voice on the radio who may be the only other human still alive.
Static Mayhem, a mainstream novel that weaves elements of Fairy Tale, Science Fiction and Horror into a contemporary setting, tells his story. Harrison's journey reveals a North America whose human population has been replaced by dinosaurs, demons and dragons, and whose infrastructure has been reduced to a smattering of buildings holding artifacts from Earth's past and future. For all the surreal obstacles of his environment, his greatest challenge proves to be the care of two young survivors, separately orphaned and in clear need of a parent. Their eventual arrival in Chicago is punctuated by his arrest, and after clearing himself and establishing a life in this new cradle of civilization, he finds that his unanswered questions pale in importance to his new family.
