Summary:I am not fanatic about anything. I am passionate about almost anything I enjoy very much. I am not a religious person, but I am a Christian who lived almost 50 years knowing all about God from books, classes, being in church and whatever. After that age I met God and got to know him on a first name basis and I do enjoy writing about my faith. It is not to offend you but to share my joy hope you will enjoy it too. Chapters: |
 | Chestnut Wood | helen grey | Poetry | Poetry | 2 | 0.99 | Dec 19, 2011 |
Summary:This was inspired by cantering on horseback through woods. I linked the chestnut trees with horses, mainly because of the colour. I believe some of our most ancient woodlands are being eroded which frustrates me when there are are "brown sites" (inner city sites), which could be redeveloped if only we were prepared to spend the money...
Have just rewritten the last 2 stanzas and adjusted a couple of lines here and there following feedback. (thanks to everyone btw) Still not sure - but hey there has to be a limit to rewrites - surely?!!! er, maybe not, lol! btw - for anyone unfamiliar with chestnut trees they are "palmate" - that is have 5 fingers, and their spires of flowers are called "candles", hgChapters: |

 | Once More with Feeling | WriteOn | Novel | Memoir | 8 | n/a | Oct 22, 2010 |
Summary:Vignettes from a childhood in northern British Columbia - Canada's most western province. Growing up with the fears of hospitalization tempered with the wonders of the Canadian outdoors and our northern winters.
This as a collection of chronological essays or vignettes rather than a typical story with one chapter sliding seamlessly into the next. I believe this is the best way to present this overflowing album of snapshot memories I have bolstered with stories my parents have shared with me.
Thanks to the help from TNBW reviewers I’ve chosen to rewrite the first handful of chapters before continuing on. I appreciate any comments you may have and I sincerely hope you enjoy the story.

Summary:My writing penchant is humour, so this one is unusual for me, but had to be written. Whether I should have posted it on tNBW is another matter.
I find the saturation promotional advertising of up-coming tv programs to be extremely irritating. One in particular that was doing the rounds really p'd me off. As I lay in bed one night trying to sleep I got quite incensed. I could not sleep until I had grabbed my laptop computer and wrote down what was bounding around inside my skull.
This is the result.Chapters: |

 | Natural Tanka | Midnight_Dreary | Poetry | Poetry | 6 | 0.09 | May 21, 2009 |
Summary:This is my first try at Tanka. Found the definition on the web as follows: "Haiku is always written in 3 lines. Tanka has an additional 2 lines of 7 syllables each with a line space after the Haiku section." Also, I am following the rule that I researched on the web that long vowells count as two syllables, or onji.
