 | The Demon Pool | RBD | Novel | Thrillers | 3 | n/a | Nov 1, 2010 |
Summary:Hello all. The Demon Pool is a 141,000 word supernatural thriller that offers a demonic twist on the famous legend of the Fountain of Youth. Think ChiPS (remember Erik Estrada?) meets The Exorcist only set in Southwest Florida. I am aiming for the mainstream thriller/horror market. I have an associate editor with a major publisher that I was able to pitch at the Pacific Northwest Writer's Association conference this past summer willing to read the completed manuscript (I finally submitted the fifth draft in early May 2011).
The story is essentially complete, but I am sure there will be some more editing and revising. Any help with the writing or story that will help me make it better will be greatly appreciated. God bless you all and next time you visit Florida, be careful where you swim. There may be more than gators in the water.Chapters: |

......... Please Note: /1. Word Count; It is a concern but I've discovered it's not a matter of trimming words, but of streamlining the story. I will look at the big picture after completion. But you are welcome to flag scenes you think might not be necessary. /2. Big revisions/rewrites take me time, and will likely take place after this draft stage. Minor tweaks/grammar checks occur along the way. .......... This story was in the Finals of the Strongest Start Four (2010) Fantasy genre. I also recip on reviews. Thank you!Chapters: |
 | Something in the Water | Keen | Novel | Horror | 10 | n/a | Apr 16, 2010 |
Summary:This is a supernatural tale that spans three time periods, the Victorian period, the Second World War and nowadays. Already there is something deadly to be found in the water... Chapters: |

 | Belly of the Whale | kelley_kay | Novel | Young Adult | 5 | n/a | Jun 10, 2008 |
Summary:Harper Southwood thinks (lately) that she is a changeling, switched at birth and dropped into a human family so her troll family could raise an attractive child. She is, of course, not really a troll--she's a teenager. She fits in nowhere, not with her beautiful family or her beautiful best friend or on this planet at all, as far as she's concerned. She has one power, or sense, which involves an awareness of when people are getting sick, but she can't sense that her mother has an extremely serious illness or her best friend suffers from a serious depression. It takes Harper dealing head on with the things she can't sense and learning to MAKE sense of them before she can renounce her outcast status and find her place in humanity.
I'd like feedback about how successful I am in portraying the voice of Harper and other characters, as well as how the pacing is working--are enough things happening and enough questions remaining unanswered as you go to build suspense as to what is going to happen next? Chapters: |
 | Maelan | rhiannon | Novel | Fantasy | 2 | n/a | Sep 21, 2006 |

But there are riots against offworlders, who the people blame for the rash of mother hate that is spreading through the land. And there is the mysterious Maelan--supposed guardian of the Well, whose malfunction may explain the evil that is afoot. Chapters: |
