Summary:The Richards' and Miller's have always lived across the street from each other, and have always gotten along. When Ella was ten, it all started going downhill. After all four of her sisters get pregnant with two Richards boys over the span of five years, Ella and Ryan are determined not to become like their elder siblings. But it would be so much easier if they didn't feel anything for each other. Just a few more months and she'll be off to college, and hopefully far away from town, and the Richards' boys. But can she last that long without repeating history?Chapters: |

Any and all comments are appreciated. Also, I'd like to enter this into a contest. Does anyone know of any contests that would be appropriate for this story? I am also looking for an agent and/or publisher. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you so much! RadleyChapters: |

I had changed the title to "Wish Rock" and then changed it back again--I'd like feedback on which title works better for the story. | RUDIE CAN'T FAIL | Spazmo Jones | Novel | Young Adult | 15 | n/a | Aug 20, 2008 |
Summary:Dumped by his girlfriend and betrayed by his father, slacker Rudie Chikauski spins into a summer odyssey on the island of Nantucket where run-ins with freaky locals and a love affair with an older woman teach him to become the man he’s never had the courage to be - himself.
Rudie outsmarts a misguided carpenter and a salty Public Works supervisor to earn the painting contract at the island rest home. He also earns the love of Jule, the Home’s laundress, who has her own challenges to face including a distant husband, a fortieth birthday, and an illness she can’t fight alone.
With the help of three friends and the Home’s resident elders, Rudie matures with the summer coming face-to-face with rival painters, proud nudists, raging bonfires, serious crunchers (big waves), and potential death by crucifix. At summer’s end, he makes a decision that will complete his transformation and point the way to new beginnings.
Thanks for looking in!

 | Fireflies In A Mason Jar | Sideman | Short Story | Other | 8 | 0.46 | Jul 25, 2008 |
Summary:I wrote this a number of years ago. My wife is from Bakersfield, Califirnia where fireflies are only a rumor or a myth. When I drug her to St. Louis, she was in awe of the "lightning bugs". I started telling her about my childhood experiences with those little fly by night critters. That evening I sat down an wrote this. That was in late 1997.
I wasn't sure if this should be regarded as a memoir or not, so I put it in the "other" genre. Any thoughts about that?
I am posting this with the hope that you might enjoy it and offer any comments about ways to make it more engaging or flow more smoothly. I want it to be a casual read that leaves the reader with slight smile or a warm feeling. I am not an educated writer. I am open to any and all comments and suggestions. Thanks!Chapters: |

 | Late Summer Love | Miss Anni | Poetry | Young Adult | 5 | 0.31 | Jul 31, 2006 |
Summary:This was written as I pondered the magnitude of my situation. My husband and I are both in our 60's, and got married in August, 2005; he after 30 years divorced, myself after 15 years. We met on-line; it was love at first e-mail, and was a long distance courtship, of sorts! He had just had surgery for cancer; I was a full-time missionary in D.C.The wedding was the wedding of my dreams! But, because of his health situation(there is no cancer!), things are moving a lot more slowly than I would like! We still can't be very active, but hope to travel a lot...whenever!!! This is the first time I have done this; your feedback is truly welcome!Chapters: |
