Summary:The small isolated town of Possum Holler, West Virginia, has suffered numerous tragedies without a doctor and with a hospital that is nearly one hundred miles away. The people are poor and backward. At last, one of their own has managed to become a doctor. Doctor MacKenzie “Mac? Reardon returns to his hometown to find his own heartache might be something no medicine can heal as he struggles with a narrow-minded community, ignorance, a rocky marriage to a city girl, Felicia Chambry Reardon, and an overwhelming attraction to the new school teacher/principal, Sunny Bankston, at the newly established school. Having met Sunny while in his ER rotation at Cook County Hospital when he was an intern and she had been shot in a school violence incident, Mac knows the spirit of the woman, a spirit that is more akin to his than the spirit of the woman he married. Mac struggles against overwhelming odds to bring his community into the twenty-first century even as Sunny Bankston battles her own demons, including an attraction to Dr. MacKenzie Reardon.Chapters: |

Thank you to all who helped me to edit my NANOWRIMO 2010 novel, which I have spent the last few months editing. I've posted it as a *new* work here in case you'd like to compare the old version with the new.
ALL comments and nit-picks are GREATLY appreciated! This one's headed for publication if it's the last thing I do, so please help me tidy it up if you can. Thank you!Chapters: |
 | Raven's Mark (Formerly Evolution of Janie - new Revisions) | penang | Novel | Young Adult | 7 | n/a | Jan 1, 2011 |
Summary:Working on another round of major revisions. I'm primarily changing the backstory and using the raven myths of the Scandinavian and Norse cultures as a basis. I've changed the names of many of the characters and am wondering if the slightly less common names are distracting.Chapters: |

 | The Polish Wife | Allanna Linville | Novel | Historical Fiction | 3 | n/a | May 28, 2010 |
Summary:In 1807, Napoleon was marching through Poland where the Poles, long oppressed by Austria, Prussia, and Russia, hailed him as a liberator. Determined to meet the great man, a beautful, young Polish countess risks everything for an encounter that became one of history's most enduring love stories.
Second only to Josephine, Maria Walewska stands out in history as Napoleon's greatest love. Their romance changed the course of an empire, the fate of kings, and the face of a continent. This is the story of the sweet, captivating woman whom Napoleon dubbed "my Polish wife."
constructive feedback desired; let me know if the story consistantly holds your interest and makes you want to know what happens next. Though I enjoy this genre, this is my first attempt to write it.Chapters: |
 | A Stranger I loved | fabbott | Novel | Romance | 3 | n/a | May 24, 2010 |
Summary:This a true long distance romance story between an Indonesian woman and an American man. You will find Indonesian coversations in the first chapter and then for the next chapters, most of the conversations will be in English. I wrote them in a purpose; it is to make the story more natural as the story was from. If I write it in Indonesia, I'll explain them in narration. The most important thing you should know, English is my second language, so please, give any attention for mistaken tenses or gramaticals I might write. Any feedbacks would be accepted and appreciated. Thank you for reading and reviewing my work. Chapters: |
 | Oceans Apart | Deejah Davies | Novel | Romance | 3 | n/a | May 7, 2010 |
Summary:‘Oceans Apart’ is a contemporary chick-lit novel set in Cardiff, Wales and Quito, Ecuador. It is based on the true story of what happened to me thus is original, honest and accurate in its light hearted and amusing but simultaneously deep and sensitive portrayal of the relationship struggles of a young woman.
The plotline revolves around 21 year old Philippa Taylor and follows her romantic liaisons with the suitable and dependable Stu, from her home town of Cardiff, and Javier - the sexy, inappropriate salsa instructor she meets in Ecuador. As she deals with conflicting emotions and contrasting possibilities as she matures and develops, although her progress is hindered by her descent (unknowingly) into an increasingly significant state of depression.
The type of feedback I want to receive: Would YOU read it? (Question aimed at women between the ages of roughly 18 and 30).Chapters: |
 | The Girl With Sand in Her Hair | Keen | Novel | Romance | 1 | n/a | Apr 5, 2010 |
Summary:I hope this novel will appeal to all who enjoyed Arabian Nights as it has many exotic stories hidden within the main plot. I wrote it after a trip to Jordan, when I fell in love with the redness of the desert and the landscape made famous by Lawrence of Arabia. It's set in 1201, a year when a terrible famine hit Egypt and there were cases of people resorting to cannibalism to survive. I would love any general feedback and thank you in advance.
