I went to a workshop, and meet this young woman. She is from Puerto Rice and has not yet master English Writing skills. As I was sitting in the workshop feeling out of place I began to wonder where I belonged. Then we were given an assignment to write an outline for our essays. I noticed right away the young woman seemed to be having difficulty getting started. Something that seems so natural to me as a writer is rather difficult for her. I asked her a few questions to halp her get started then about 1/2 way through the outline she suddenly took off and ran with the assignment. The workshop was on service learning. When I walked in the door I had no idea what I was up for. By the end I had received much more than I had given.

I want advice on both grammatical and structural issues (sentence structure, pace, diction, etc.) and content issues. Is it believable? Does my dialogue make sense? Do you want to keep reading?

Okay, I'm getting back on track. Much of what is to come is already written... I just seem to be having a hard time with the weeks between Amarillo and OK City, and the first half of the trip to OK City. I'm not sure why, except perhaps this time was just so ordinary.
