Summary:

This is raw, a work in progress. I'm taking a risk here, going out of my comfort zone by putting up something that's not yet finished. I’m hoping you’ll see some growth from me in this. Sapphire Reign takes place almost 10 years after Kings & Queens. I’d appreciate reviews from readers, who've read my first book, since they can (hopefully) see what I’m doing differently and if it’s working, but anyone is welcome to read this. However, since it is a sequel, spoilers abound. So only proceed if you have no intention of reading Book 1.

My mini-sum now: In a world where wickedness is exalted and an evil agenda is corrupting the young and innocent, a 26-year-old woman, trapped in the grip of agony, receives a glimmer of hope and battles heaven and hell to reclaim the happiness that's been stripped from her. ***Minor change. I originally had this about 10 years later, then switched it to 8. Now it's closer to 10 again. I forgot I had placed Majesty's sister Skye in high school. She's 15 in this story.

I couldn't sleep; it's almost 2 am. This poem is the birth of an unquiet mind. Feel free to analyze, criticize, dissect, or whatever. Comments and suggestions are welcomed. I experimented with capitalization, some rhyme (maybe technically half rhyme, which I don't particularly like), and a little unintended alliteration. This was rather spontaneous, so it lacks polish. But I hope my feelings are apparent.

The main character began as JOSEPH HIGHLANDER. PAMELA MYLAR, a childhood girl friend heard about a helicopter being bomb with him, wife, CARRIE and two close friends, BEN and BECKY TRENT. Two years later, she learned he wasn't the fourth victim in the bombing. She visited the institute. ROBERT DAEMON is a faithful friend and Joseph's lawyer and JANICE is Robert's wife. Joseph and Pamela look different. The FBI give them a new identity as FRANK and TAMMY JACKSON. LAUREL, Joseph's daughter and JIMMY HIGHLANDER, a son-in-law and also Joseph's adopted son, challenged Frank's take-over of their father's institute.

In the semi-small town of Cedar Creek, some people don’t care to lock their doors, even though the woods hold secrets and the children are terrified to venture into them. The warm sense of security is shattered for Majesty Alistair, a feisty but grief-stricken teen, when she uncovers a mass murder plot deep in the thick. She struggles to find and defeat the would-be-killers before they act, but they have an agenda far bigger than she ever assumed. Violence rocks the town, leaving residents reeling and drawing Majesty into the middle of it all. With danger always pressing, police seemingly getting nowhere and those closest to her looking guilty, she continues hunting and charges into an evil web, but the truth and her actions threaten to haunt her forever, especially since she’s left with blood on her hands, the blood of someone she loves.
