Summary:This is a fact-based fiction work on the life of Blackbeard. The dates and many events that follow herein are historically accurate. Many of the underlying details that add depth to the story, including some names, were constructed out of my own creative license. The intended purpose is to immerse the reader in Blackbeard's period in history and spark excitement in the reader about possibly studying Blackbeard, or history in general, in the future. I should start by saying that the first chapter, possibly the second, are already in the process of a rewrite to add more fiction to the story and less technical jargon. However, my biggest concern with the story is dialogue throughout the plot since I have never used much dialogue in my writing. I want it to sound like it fits the period, but have a modern spin to it. I am worried that in parts it may be too tame. Other than that, any general feedback would be appreciated.
