 | A Year In A Man's Life | BlueSky | Novel | Commercial Fiction | 2 | n/a | Apr 17, 2011 |
Summary:This novel follows a year in the life of a recently divorced, software consultant, Edward Kale. Written in the style of a romantic comedy, Edward finds himself flung headlong into a mid-life crisis, despite his best intentions. He sees it coming and yet seems unable to resist its allure. These experiences prove beneficial ultimately, as they allow him to move on from the divorce, and come to terms with his ex-wife, his daughter, and his career. I welcome any insights or feedback, particularly as they relate to character development or credibility. Chapters: |

 | Just Desserts | Stindo | Novel | Mystery and Crime | 13 | n/a | Mar 22, 2011 |
Summary:This is a very rough, very raw, still evolving work in progress. The characters are communicating effectively in my mind, I just hope to translate their interactions effectively onto paper.
*****
Chandler Jones and Dino DiGallo open a cafe at the ripe age of 22 years of age. Their similarities are many, having been best friends for the past 17 years, but their ideas and motivations for success develop different paths, opening a gap between them. Cappuccinos, lesbians, multinational wannabe gangsters and a murder investigation follow, adding chaos to deteriorating relationships, both personal and professional. How will it all end?
Based loosely on my own experience, this is a departure from what I consider my 'typical' style / genre. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated - please be brutally honest about what you like / dislike and areas of improvement. Thanks. AllenChapters: |
