Summary:I love to write of the days gone by, as I was growing up; it was a good time to be in. We always were dismissed from school for the summer on May 20th. This poem is about the summer three months following. Yes, three months; that's what we got back then.
More than a critique, I would just like to know if you enjoy reading it; if maybe if stirs some memories for you. There was nothing in particular I wrote it for; a fellow writer wrote something that inspired me to write this. Chapters: |

 | The Rosie Posie Song | Erndog | Poetry | Humor | 5 | 0.54 | Feb 18, 2013 |
Summary:Rosie was a Walker Hound, AKA a Coon Hound which is a scent hound and thus had a big nose. She was a real character. As many of my pets end up with a custom song sung by myself and developed sometimes over several months, I thought to pen this one one out as a memory to her and my family. I have other songs about my pets, my Chocolate Lab, Mocha and my two cats Baker, AKA Baker-tatoe, and Maya, AKA Fatty-Catty. I guess the song ideas come from the pet-names derived from their given names, but lightly spiced up with observations about their characters.
Just general feedback. Im not a serious poet or writer, just a dabbler. I bet I am not the only person who has pet songs. It would be nice to see what others have done.Chapters: |

Summary:I read some poems recently by David Roderick where he seemed to take on the persona of other people as he created poetic self-portraits in their "voices". I tried to do this here, imagining myself as my brother who died some years back. There were a lot of false starts and abrupt stops before I was able to come to this version. Comments are welcome.Chapters: |

Summary:I started writing dialect poetry in the 11th grade. By the 12th grade I thought I had it figured it out. It took three dialect poems to impress a college admissions board. This one one of those poems. I was accepted to the President's honor society and asked to read this poem to the President of the school and his staff. I refused.
There were only ten Black students in the entire university. There were none in the Honor Society. I didn't want the message of this poem to be distorted. I could not read this poem to those wealthy men. There was too much racial tension in those halls. For the next thirty years I wanted to erase this poem from my memory banks. It had opened the door. But it had also closed one.Chapters: |

 | From Seclusion to Love | Idealistic_Muser | Novel | Literary Fiction | 2 | n/a | May 29, 2012 |
Summary:The story revolves around a clueless bipolar part time muse named John and his somewhat dysfunctional relationship with his best friend Chloe. They both love each other, they know they were meant for each other, but somehow life always got in the way. It is written from the eyes of John and it centers around his need to get over his own issues, find himself, his voice and eventually his true love while avoiding the pitfalls of his mental condition and his self defense mechanism of withdrawing into seclusion when things go awry.
It is about my vision of true love.
The type of feedback I am looking for is grammer related stuff mostly. I love telling stories and I think my writing style is pretty good, but I realize my structure and grammar are probably not up to par with professional writers.
I would also love to know if the story is a good read. I have been writing for a long time but this is the first real time I ever submitted anything for others to read and review.

Summary:A poem about the sadness of life and the regrets of anger. Each poem I write has something to do with the moment in which it was written. This one was written in about fifteen minutes after the event of outburst anger when four unbelievable events came together at the same time hitting me with hopelessness. So most of my poems are of a personal reflection nature and mainly invoked by my emotional state at the time of writing.
I'm just trying to put out a set of different poems from different states of mind to see what it invokes in the reader...

It’s okay to not make friends with the first people you meet. You just need to have patience to find the right friend for you! Join Squiggle the Tiggle in his quest to find a friend. The star shape eyed, sparkly nosed, and pudgy-bodied Tiggle must wiggle his way through sand, water, bubbles and mud in his search through the land of Pibnee. Summary:I've always thought that abstract poetry, like abstract painting, could be tossed off easily and since the rules are so vague as to be non-existent, who could say what was good or bad. Then I started looking into the work of some poets who collaborated with abstract visual artists and discovered that I might have been making false conclusions without real knowledge. Summary:Heard some beautiful a capella singing in the busy local mall tonight and listened for a little while. The Mennonite way of life, lived in the midst of a secular world, must be a challenge. Though not as immersed in their own culture as the Amish, they adhere to a pretty plain and humble path. Their singing perfectly exemplified their religious beliefs.Chapters: |

Summary:Naruto is my favourite Manga (and Anime) I thought I'd post this in case anyone does read it. It's an amazing story. This particular poem is about the Demon Fox which was sealed into Naruto when he was a baby. In parts it's Naruto speaking to the Demon inside him - and about the isolation and rage that comes from the Demon. Most likely no one will understand this - ohwell! I enjoy writing fanfic poetry, so I was compelled to post. Ask anything if you like. :DChapters: |

 | Life's Little Lessons | Sideman | Poetry | Humor | 13 | 0.72 | Mar 19, 2009 |
Summary:This was originally a lyric to a song I worte. I did a little cut and paste to make it look somewhat like a poem. As most of you know, I am a very poor poet. But sometimes the muse insists at the risk of her going on extended vaction if I do not comply.
A little Psychology 101 mixed with a little humor. It's meant to be a little bit of fun. It suffers significantly from a technical POV. But my very best poetry is pretty bad. Hope you enjoy it.Chapters: |

Summary:As some of you know by now, my wife is extremely ill and will never get better. She has almost died three times in the past 15 months. Her entire family is in Bakersfield, California. She is here in St. Louis. She depends on me for just about everything. Sometimes it leaves me overwhelmed and I doubt my abilities to give all that she needs.
I wrote this originally as a song last year and had it recorded this past August. It was a cathartic process for me. I have slightly modified it for this poetic version. As far as feedback, any comments you would care to make are welcomed. Thanks for reading.Chapters: |

 | Chaiku versus Haiku | sonny | Poetry | Poetry | 8 | 0.11 | Feb 3, 2008 |
Summary:The rules for composing chaiku are simple and straightforward: four syllables or four words – or both – per line. A chaiku may consist of one line or of four lines (a quatrain) or of several quatrains. Any style – lyricism, humor, nonsense, satire, etc. – is allowed.
Rules for writing haiku are varied and complex. In addition to the three-line, five-seven-five syllable count, haiku by one definition requires reference to nature, preferably to a season, and is generally confined to the here and now. Other genres written in the haiku form are customarily designated by another name.
Disregarding the requirement for specific genre and content in haiku, how do the two forms compare in their ability to express a concept concisely? The following pair of poems was written to explore this question. Reviews expressing a preference and giving reasons for preferring one form to another would be welcome.
