Summary:This is my best piece of work thus far. I wrote it after having an amazing session with a Mexican sound healer in which he played the didgerydoo(sp) around my body and over my heart. I really want to publish this poem, but don't know where to start. Enjoy the poem!!Chapters: |
 | If I had Only Known;Breaking The Silence Of Caregiver Abuse | Brooke Jennings | Novel | Non-Fiction | 2 | n/a | Oct 19, 2007 |
Summary:This book is a non-fiction work, and discusses corporate America's role in the quality of care patients receive in nursing homes, group homes and institutions. The novel is based on true events. Due to the graffic details and personal stories about patient abuse, reader discretion is advised. I am interested in viewer feedback regarding the books informative features, and if it would make you pay closer attention to who you might choose to care for your parents or grandparents if they became bedridden.I would also like to know what emotions it evokes in you,ie; anger, sadness,(writer or patient)or if it makes anyone interested enough to do something about the abuse of these patients?Perhaps thinking of creating advocacy groups, changing laws, writing to government officials etc. Thank you for your interest!
God Bless...Happy writing....Chapters: |
 | The Last Stanza | Brenda Michele | Poetry | Non-Fiction | 9 | 1.12 | Aug 24, 2007 |
Summary:The poem recounts the events of my suicide attempt in 2004 (I'm fine now). I'm open to any feedback, but you needn't refer me to any psych services (no, really...I'm fine). I would not recommend it for children or immature teens. I hope any who consider such an irrational act will reconsider, as I've attempted twice and survived to live a new and happier life.Chapters: |

Summary:I am looking for feedback on this essay, which was a blog entry a week or two ago. Someone who stopped in on my blog gave me a huge shout out on it. So I may submit it to the Home Forum at the Christian Science Monitor. They accept personal essays of 900 words or less that must have a theme present, "that take the reader on a journey with you on a journey of self-discovery." Does this fit the bill? How can I make it stronger? Just edited this a.m. 8/27, per the suggestions of my first five reviewers. Tnanks for the help. Any other ideas?Chapters: |
