 | A New Day Dawning Haiku | flowing pencil | Poetry | Poetry | 6 | 0.10 | Jun 15, 2013 |
Summary:Haiku ... little lesson for those who don't understand the form. English form. !st line 5 syllables 2nd line seven 3rd line five Can be more than one verse. About nature or human nature. Wonderful form of poetry as the discipline can be so helpful for writing other poetry forms.
I live in Western Washington State and we have many 'cloudy' days. The sun also visits and often. But the last three days? Mornings have been so overcast and weather has such an impact on me. I use it to write.
Any and all comments suggestions etc always appreciated. New to writing poetry or struggling with it? Try this form? Chapters: |

 | Senryu For Living Previously Haiku For Living.. | flowing pencil | Poetry | Poetry | 5 | 0.14 | Apr 25, 2013 |
Summary:title change as it was brought to my attention by Filliam .. thanks for the reminder.. that this is indeed a Senryu not a Haiku.. as is about human nature not nature. Got a lot of catching up to do on reviewing and 'housework!!!' So wanted to post this piece while it is still in my busy little head.
Only way I know how to write is spontaneously but my now you all know that. :D.. It could be July before my often-time bemused 'muse' is amused.. and wants to play..
Being up there in years makes on think about life and perhaps the closing in of time. Not morbid.. it is what it is... Chapters: |

 | DEBUT OF DAY | flowing pencil | Poetry | Poetry | 7 | 0.09 | Mar 2, 2013 |
Summary:
I know this short. Will work more on it later.. Again simply trying to keep words coming etc..
Also worn out subject for me but hopefully getting better descriptively? Originality is difficult as most likely somewhere.. sometime words have been used? Ah.. the plight of a poet?
Any and all advice is welcomed..Chapters: |
 | BEAUTY ON A WINTER'S EVE | flowing pencil | Poetry | Poetry | 6 | 0.15 | Jan 23, 2013 |
Summary:This is to try and simply 'capture' what I saw. Not to necessarily be poetically correct regarding format.. 'count' etc.. as that is so hit and miss with me. May never truly 'get it' as that would take studying :) ...
Blood red sky... blood can be and often is bright red to a dark red. Rubies also come in different shades of red. So Blood Red is correct in the way I used it.
Sometimes it simply is nothing more but expression.. This is my expressing what I saw and still remains with me days later.

I find the saturation promotional advertising of up-coming tv programs to be extremely irritating. One in particular that was doing the rounds really p'd me off. As I lay in bed one night trying to sleep I got quite incensed. I could not sleep until I had grabbed my laptop computer and wrote down what was bounding around inside my skull.

Summary:Forgetting that humans have a place in the Natural World can be dangerous. Biblical cautions about stewardship may be more than out of date platitudes. But civility and harmony need to also be part of the balance that humans bring to that order. Those that would profit from nature must also be the strongest proponents of wise stewardship. Political posturing and unfounded shouting to secure long careers in powerful places is as dangerous as any disaster, natural or manmade.Chapters: |
