Haiku ... little lesson for those who don't understand the form. English form. !st line 5 syllables 2nd line seven 3rd line five Can be more than one verse. About nature or human nature. Wonderful form of poetry as the discipline can be so helpful for writing other poetry forms. I live in Western Washington State and we have many 'cloudy' days. The sun also visits and often. But the last three days? Mornings have been so overcast and weather has such an impact on me. I use it to write. Any and all comments suggestions etc always appreciated. Trying to capture a sight during a drive October 30th... It was really magic as Autumn hued leaves were being stripping from the maples trees and swirling around us like huge colorful snowflakes. My writing penchant is humour, so this one is unusual for me, but had to be written. Whether I should have posted it on tNBW is another matter. I find the saturation promotional advertising of up-coming tv programs to be extremely irritating. One in particular that was doing the rounds really p'd me off. As I lay in bed one night trying to sleep I got quite incensed. I could not sleep until I had grabbed my laptop computer and wrote down what was bounding around inside my skull. This is the result.

Forgetting that humans have a place in the Natural World can be dangerous. Biblical cautions about stewardship may be more than out of date platitudes. But civility and harmony need to also be part of the balance that humans bring to that order. Those that would profit from nature must also be the strongest proponents of wise stewardship. Political posturing and unfounded shouting to secure long careers in powerful places is as dangerous as any disaster, natural or manmade.
