Summary:This is the sequel to Static Mayhem. It's been on the back burner for some time now, but I recently unearthed the few sketches I have for it, and I think it may be time to start fleshing it out. So far, I'm just calling it Static Mayhem 2, although my notes have the working title Mayhospheres. Since the original title for Static Mayhem was "Big Yellow Taxi", I don't have the best faith in my ability to name things, so I'm going to leave this approximately untitled for the time being. For those of you who read the first book, this story takes place eight years later, and focuses on the children (some adopted, some biological) of some of the characters from it. New readers are welcome, but should be aware that this may not carry as a stand alone story. I guess we'll find out. Chapters:

Summary:Poem about life also the use of allegories in expression in poetry or any writing. Hope is to get readers who hesitate reviewing poetry to take a leap in faith as there is no wrong way to review if you say how a work 'feels' 'provokes' or if it doesn't. Still good feedback and can help enrich one's own writing. Poetry is not my favorite genre. I don't even own a book of poetry except for my mothers. Only poetry I read in on this site. I write it as do not feel confident in other genres. I too am learning to try though. To stretch oneself is to grow and stay flexible.Chapters:

![]() | Deathgods Book 1: Chaos Rising | Sacha Sterling | Novel | Fantasy | 1 | n/a | Jun 3, 2009 |
Summary:Everybody wants something they can’t have. The dead want the living, the living long for the lost, faeries lust after humans, and demons want to steal your soul. An accord must be struck between what we want and what we need, and what we should not have. Ever. Set in the here and now, Deathgods: Chaos Rising is played out in a multiverse where the fluid boundaries between science and magic, good and bad, fate and free will flow into channels of their own choosing. Spirit world, Daemon world, Mortal world, Faerie. Each exists in its own physical plane, yet histories and fortunes cross, lives and civilizations change depending on actions across other realms. Destinies intertwine like serpents coiling. Killian, a supernatural warrior still haunted by his own death centuries before, serves those who seek to maintain a sort of balance between these forces. He is a Deathgod, slave to the Great Balance. The Balance as ordained by the Council of Daemons, appointed by God in his wisdom to oversee the ordering of the Multiverse in justice and mercy. At least that’s the Daemons' story and they’re sticking to it. Together with his beautiful, and forbidden, Japanese demon companion, Killien unravels a plot to throw open the barriers between the realms, ushering in an age of chaos and destroying the mortal world as we know it. The Seven Fold Spell. A great enchantment that has not been cast in ten thousands years. The spell demands three objects: mirror, crystal and sword. From Scottish moors to the hidden demon world of Japan and finally the California Coast, Killien tracks the first of these objects, the mirror, to its focus: two young mortals. Trailing demons and monsters in his wake, the Deathgod must protect the humans at all costs using them to destroy the mirror. There's just one catch. One of the humans holds the soul of the man who murdered Killien and burned his family alive on the shores of the Irish sea, a soul he has spent over a thousand years secretly hunting in order to send it, screaming into hell. The multiverse loves irony.Chapters:

Summary:Being adopted was the best thing that ever happened to Micky. The next best thing was when his dad adopted another and he ended up with a brother. The fact that he was Caucasian, Sam was Asian, and their father was a single African American, didn’t bother him at all. It only meant that he’d have to deal with fools who didn’t understand racially mixed families. But that was the easy part. Growing up the son of a psychic who happened to predict the end of the world, well that was another problem all together. Sam and Micky find themselves thrust into a whirlwind of danger, magic and demons. The only way to end it all is to unravel the meanings behind their father’s cryptic prophecies. And worse yet, if they fail, so too will the fate of mankind.Chapters:

Summary:Charles "Cash" Register is a Private Investigator whose new case is to reclaim the missing wife of a weird little mystic from the "Spirits of the Great Beyond." His mother thinks she is a reincarnation of Annie Oakley. She's very handy with a lasso. His assistant is a gorgeous but ditzy blonde who's built like the best brick outhouse money can buy. She has a lot of skin to cover in places. Somehow she always has a little trouble keeping it adequately covered. When Chuck-A-Roo the Clown; Cedrick the Sissy; and old, senile Mrs. Snodgrass and her dog get involved, it becomes a calamity. The humor is a little silly and over-the-top in places. BEWARE: There is a lot of sexual inuendo, adult situations and adult language. And yes, our P.I. is a bit chauvanistic at times. Any comments you would care to make are welcomed. Anything from a general "I like it" or "I don't like it" to a lengthy technical critique would be fine. I am writing this as I go. I have completed but four chapters at this point. I was rather reluctant to do it this way. But, what the heck. It will force me to work hard on it. Problem is...I don't have a clue where the story is going yet! Should be interesting! Thanks in advance.Chapters:

Summary:In this era where science fiction is becoming science fact, technology is mixing with strongly held myths, and art is blending the chaos to shine a light on the rapid changes, we will either destroy ourselves or else learn to live in peace, without and within. This is the story of a particularly gifted young psychic, Aurora Swift, and the psychiatrist who tries to unravel her worlds, and in doing so unintentionally comes into contact with interconnected universal mysteries, dimensions, ancient beings and civilizations. Mixture of fantasy and reality genres. Mainly, the two settings are the modern day present with a bit of government conspiracy, and a sort of underworld that Aurora calls the Night World she escapes into to keep her sanity intact what with the pressures of her life. We meet a lot of other psychics in Aurora's circle and travel all over the U.S. and the world in search of some type of salvation. ** The first six or so chapters are non-linear and deliberately jarring as Aurora is experiencing a crossover of dimensions and times that will be sorted out in later chapters.// If I were to summarize the emotional stew or message of the story, it might go something like this: It is easy to wonder if our lives are worthless and actions are pointless because all will be forgotten one day. If every inventor, thinker, artist, intuitive being, and scientist followed through with this line of thinking, we’d still be in the Dark Ages or perhaps cause a new one. In this time of flourishing light, we need not allow the darkness of short-sightedness envelop us. The power is within us to make this world whatever we want it to be and become. And yes, one can make a difference with a little help from her friends.// **NOTE: I am on this site for constructive criticism. If you believe my work is only worthy of a 1 or 2 and feel like writing a snide scathing review or telling me how to write according to you, go somewhere else. My work isn't perfect, but I what I don't need is people who wish to feel superior by cutting me down or taking out their bad day on me. If you "don't get it" either ask me why something is written as it is or read something else. That I've had to explain this is sad, but there are plenty of A-holes in the world and that is reflected by similar percentages on this site. For those of you here to learn and grow and offer positive suggestions: Welcome. ---- (4/23/09 Currently reposted Chapter 1-3 and more coming soon for fans old and new).Chapters:

Summary:11/05/09Reposted by request. The current status of Static Mayhem is that I have yet to find an agent to represent it. I haven't given up on it, but I am currently focusing my energy on my next novel, Caprice. I am still happy to take critique on either book. Meanwhile, I have started posting the beginning of a sequel to Static Mayhem. I hope to get the bulk of a first draft written this year, but Caprice took me six years to write, so I don't know how realistic that is. We'll see. ***** Two forces drive Harrison Cody to trek from New England to Chicago on foot: a bewildering pixie named Glimmer, and Claudia, the voice on the radio who may be the only other human still alive. Static Mayhem, a mainstream novel that weaves elements of Fairy Tale, Science Fiction and Horror into a contemporary setting, tells his story. Harrison's journey reveals a North America whose human population has been replaced by dinosaurs, demons and dragons, and whose infrastructure has been reduced to a smattering of buildings holding artifacts from Earth's past and future. For all the surreal obstacles of his environment, his greatest challenge proves to be the care of two young survivors, separately orphaned and in clear need of a parent. Their eventual arrival in Chicago is punctuated by his arrest, and after clearing himself and establishing a life in this new cradle of civilization, he finds that his unanswered questions pale in importance to his new family.
