Summary:

This novel is set in a remote indigenous mining town in Cape York Australia. The book is a coming of age story about a young women, Sam Tucker, and her friends based on actual events. For Sam's 18th birthday, rather than another backyard party gatecrashed by others, she convinces her closest friends to going camping on the bank of a wild river and the events that unfold change their lives forever. I wanted it to be based around characters that secondary students (13 - 18) could relate to and with action and adventure that would be interesting and leave them wanting to know more. I've never written anything before. My recent addiction to blogging sparked an interest in writing and a sense of purpose(http:/cassielobley@blogspot.com) I found this site to be be a fantastic avenue to learn and mature my literary skills. Yes... there will be more but too much on my mind to follow up right now. Although, perhaps it says it all? Today is truly all we have and perhaps not even that long. Live in moment more? This is one of those little pieces that one simply grabs a pencil and throws down before the words escape. Especially an old mind like mine! I had forgot it was even here as had no title even. Observations of living for over a half century. Well over may I add! Using an altered Haiku format. Definitely not in best writing form but sick or not ... a writer writes!! Critical commentary always welcomed as here to better my writing.
