 | The Chilli is Not the Whole Curry: One Woman, One Prophecy, Two Countries, and Two Adoptions | Sarah in India | Novel | Memoir | 1 | n/a | Dec 17, 2011 |
Summary:My story is a novelistic yet factual account of my personal journey of moving to India with my husband. I am in search of adventure and motherhood, but as I struggle to find my feet in a foreign land, I also traverse a rocky path to parenthood. It is a fortuneteller’s prophecy of a “dark-skinned child” which proves my hardest test; my emotional battle with infertility in a developing country makes me contemplate my need for birth children. India’s poverty (her street children, orphans, and child labourers) influences me to question my priorities, and I follow a path of personal growth that is lined with uncertainty and fear. When my husband and I decide to adopt a child we face another set of hurdles. Our touching journey leads us to Cambodia where the clairvoyant’s prediction comes true. Chapters: |

I'm looking for grammatical errors and also concept issues--I want to know if something is confusing, even if you can't explain why. Thanks!Chapters: |

Summary:Shayd is a mixed-blood – an outcast – who was abandoned at birth. After teaming up with an unlikely ally, a stoic Shokan elf named Raven, the two of them set out in search of Shayd's parents. Unfortunately, since mixed-bloods are looked down on and hated by all, the quest turns out to be even harder than he ever imagined.
This is a story I've been working on for about three years, now. Many, many drafts later I am finally preparing to send it out to agents. The feedback I am looking for is basically to see if it's a story people would like to read. I am curious to see if it's interesting and entertaining enough, and I may be open to some suggestions if I feel they fit with the characters and general plot. Please feel free to tell me what you think – bad or good. I look forward to hearing what you think!

Summary:The journey to God is merely the reawakening of the knowledge of where you are always, and what you are forever. It is a journey without distance to a goal that has never changed. - A Course in Miracles
The idea expressed in the above statement (which is also the main premise for A Course in Miracles) is something I find both fascinating and compelling. Hence, the poem.Chapters: |

Summary:I entered this poem in Poethood's Change of Scenery contest. It was one of three that I entered and we should find out the contest's winners and who will be published in the book that will come out of the contest next week. It is one of the longer poems I have written and, so far, the only sestina.Chapters: |
