Summary:I have a friend who places a lot of importance on "names" such as Prada, Coach, Liz, etc. She's very wealthy. In one especially egregious conversation, I managed to learn about every piece of clothing on her body and, oh yes, her Tiffany necklace. I'm very generic, barely glancing in a mirror once a day. Well she IS a friend, but my sister too...so she HAS to like me, even in my Walmart shorts. I wrote this in the same way she speaks, but with my spin on it.Chapters: |

Summary:I tried to capture the intensity of childhood rivalry and jealousy. In this case it has leeched so deeply into the psyche of the protagonist that it has dominated the way she has led her life.
I welcome any feedback on the telling, organisation and effectiveness.

Summary:Ever since the semester's begun, and I take the bus to school, I've had to deal with dirty looks. Didn't I leave that behind, along with highschool and teen angst?! I wish I can tell these girls that, one day, they will not feel the need to base their own beauty and worth on someone else. It's silly... they're so beautiful already, and don't even realize it.
(This haiku was just a bit of fun on my part while I was passing time on the bus).Chapters: |

Summary:How affected is our view of ourselves-- our intelligence, beauty, self worth-- when pitted against someone who is supposed to be the embodiment of the "gold standard?" The evil is twofold: a loathing and envy of another, coupledd with budding self-loathing.Chapters: |
