Taking a break from Ruby Rose and feeling reflective, so thought I'd give poetry a crack. Not because I'm any good at it, but I wanted to play around with interpretations/double meanings. I know as a poem this is really awkward - clumsy rhyming, lousy rhythm, annoying experimental pace ... so I'm looking more for suggestions on how to improve, rather than pointing out what I already know is crap. I'm particularly looking for feedback on the content - I'm trying for the interpreting-alternative-meanings concept without being too obvious or too obscure ... walkin' the line, I guess.

Chapter 6 - Visitor. I post this chapter, complete with editorial mistakes, and nits. It is the chapter that I hope will start the intrigue. As you know the story is of a Young man who has just lost his father that died during their morning ride. He has taken over the day to day running of the family stud. he has recently been to one of the larger shows and won several places with a new horse Darcy. I normally don't approve of qualifying a poem, but because this was a rather large departure from my normal approach, I thought I'd say a few words about its genesis. This poem chose to write itself (my pen tends to have a mind of its own sometimes). It veered away from the very personal to explore what major elements make up life's experience; the impact birth, dreams, and dawns can have on one's anticipation of death one day; and the way endings beget beginnings in the ever repeating cycle of life.
