 | What About Me? (Re-write) | Darklight | Novel | Commercial Fiction | 5 | n/a | Apr 29, 2008 |
Summary:This is a major re-write of the novel based on the great feedback I've received from reviewers here. The first chapter is entirely new, and I've decided to delay the introduction of a couple of the characters a bit because I got the impression the back and forth was confusing some readers.
I think this is essentially a chick lit story, but I've received some great feedback from the men here, so guys, please don't be scared off.
Nicole is a single working mother in her late thirties. At the beginning of the novel she finds that she is pregnant with the child of her younger, unemployed live-in boyfriend. As the story progresses, we find out how she deals with the pregnancy, learn more about how she came to be in this seemingly dead-end relationship and why she stays, and ultimately get to see her create the life she's always dreamed of, but not without some hurdles along the way.
Review wise, I am interested in any and all feedback, from the smallest nits to comments on story flow, dialogue, etc. Feel free to jump in and review any chapter -- I don't mind if you don't start at the beginning.Chapters: |

Summary:FATHERLIKE is about a woman dealing with her father’s desertion of her as a child, her husband coming to terms with his sexuality, their separation and battle for custody of their son, the consequences of deceit, and love’s ignorance of convention. It tracks the parallel stories of an estranged husband and wife as they come to terms with their own and their family’s secrets; of love, money, sexuality, paternity, and even a father’s death. The fight for their child, across countries and cultures, ultimately forces them to face certain truths.Chapters: |

 | An Uncertain Redemption | wagepeace | Novel | Literary Fiction | 1 | n/a | Jul 5, 2006 |
Summary:Michael Connelly is a thirty-something husband and father who lost control of his life. Reflecting on the series of events in a downward spiral through darkness and despair, he discovers that a seemingly harmless man can be possessed by demons from a haunted past. His story acts as a reminder of the thin line that separates those who can manage life's changes and those who fall apart in spite of their best efforts. Finally, it is a story of learning, acceptance and personal redemption.Chapters: |
