 | Dreams of a Time Before | gcar717 | Novel | Other | 1 | n/a | May 23, 2013 |
Summary:Andrew searches for a way to save his sister from death in the bleak Arizona refugee camp his family now calls home.
I originally wrote this as a writing exercise--I'm putting it under "Novel" because I'm not sure if I want to leave it alone or expand on it at some point.Chapters: |
 | 666 - A Zombie Tale | Kirk_Jolly | Novel | Horror | 4 | n/a | Apr 26, 2013 |
Summary:What if the zombie apocalypse happened but it didn't end the world? What if civilization was able to endure the initial outbreak and retain some semblance of order and control? How would our lives change?
These are the questions I asked myself as I wrote this piece and my attempt to answer them for my poor protagonist Allen Weathers, a pathologist who was unlucky enough to be at work, in his morgue, when the outbreak happened.
This is a finished novella coming in at just under 30k words to qualify for the Kindle Singles program at Amazon. I have finished the first draft and initial rewrites. I'm looking to polish this piece for publication so tear it up please.Chapters: |
 | Lincoln | Linkun Chen | Short Story | Thrillers | 9 | 1.12 | Apr 25, 2013 |
Summary:Just something I came up with while I was bored. I wrote it in one sitting, so it's still very raw. The theme of this one is materialism. Please let me know if you think this story has any potential. Thanks!Chapters: |
 | THE ROOM WITHIN | flowing pencil | Poetry | Poetry | 7 | 0.24 | Feb 4, 2013 |
Summary:
Trying to catch emotions with this. Without sameo sameo..
Perhaps a bit more originality? Or is it just a repeated
overdone subject?
Capturing emotions is what my writing is all about. Whether it be dark or filled with chaotic laughter.
All have moments of joy and all have darkness visit. Perhaps a few lucky ones escape.
I know many who these words encapsulates and whose battles I recognize easily. Sometimes it helps to know another is aware of life's battles and those who internalize everything. This is for all who know this room within.
I read it out loud and seems to have a decent rhythm .. any and all feedback What I don't want is it to simply sound corny etc.. Chapters: |
 | Natural Blondz, or Zombies Don't Dye ; Tales of the Unlikely and Just Plain Weird | Kydd Dustyn | Novel | Humor | 6 | n/a | Apr 29, 2012 |
Summary:It's a little humor and a little horror. Not sure what genre to put it under.
Anyway, I'm putting together a book of short stories from the zombie, halloween, and other short stories I've published here for various contests. I do have to warn you that you shouldn't read a couple of the zombie stories with a mouthful of milk. I never write serious zombie stories. I'm thinking I'll break the book down by sections: Missing Parts, Dark Hearts, and No, I'm Sane, Honest!

 | A VISIT FROM SHAKESPEARE | flowing pencil | Poetry | Poetry | 8 | 0.37 | Feb 1, 2012 |
Summary:OKAY.. Hit me hard as Shakespeare did visit and this is what poured out and I mean poured out! It is a ten minute or less write and I haven't a clue from where it came...
Maybe I should begin to entertain the belief in muses even if they might be old rusty ones??? Do not ask me to remove the 'woe' or any old fashion term as Willy might get pissed.
Only kidding..

 | Rath Raven | kaleigh castle-maguire | Short Story | Flash Fiction | 5 | 0.53 | Jan 29, 2012 |
Summary:This short piece was for a flash fiction competition and I really don't know what, if anything, to do with it now. There was a hard word limit of I think 800 or 850, but if I work on it some more I can extend it. It is a short short though so I probably wouldn't want to make it longer than around 1,500. I'd be interested in what folks think on length, plot, characters, POV etc.Chapters: |

 | Water Rising Rewritten/Republished | flowing pencil | Poetry | Poetry | 12 | 0.33 | Sep 26, 2010 |
Summary:Please do not feel the need to leave another review. The first piece was actually posted accidentally and while it was well received it was not the piece I had in mind and was only a outline of sorts. I didn't even know I had posted it until the I saw a review! aaaaaagggghhhh.
I am conscious of reviews and rankings so a little uncomfortable doing this. Will work that out later.
I have saved the original.. But this was what I saw. I is metaphorical in nature.
I see many in this peril.. It saddens me. I have no rope to cast...
Any an all feedback always embraced. I hope you find this one as emotionally impacting as I wanted it to be.

 | "911 Dispatch, What is Your Emergency?" (My First One Hundred Days) | Lost Soul | Novel | Humor | 2 | n/a | Oct 19, 2008 |
Summary:Okay I am back once again on an expiramental basis. This is a comedy but a rather dark one. If you could think of everything that is right and good about the Emergency Medical Services then throw that out the window, you are coming close to what my novel is about. For those that remember Beavis and Buthead, they were everything you did not want your teen to be all rolled up into two characters. In everything about those two boys was a grain of uncomftorble truth. I am writing about, no exploiting that grain of uncomftroble truth.
As to feed back first and formost I want to know if it was funny and enough to hook you into reading more. Then hit me with the nits. Just don't look the other way, look at what I have to say.

 | Survivor's Carnival | arianna cordelle sofer | Poetry | Poetry | 8 | 1.50 | Aug 23, 2008 |
Summary:Warning: this is a little on the messed up side. This is another poem that one of my "characters" wrote.
He is deeply traumatized, 22 years old and has pychotic breaks/flashbacks. I don't want to give too much away because this is from book 3. The character has constant suicidal thoughts, but is unable to act on them. I'm really trying to work on refining the poetry style, becasue I've never written poems before. Chapters: |
 | Bed for My Sorrows | arianna cordelle sofer | Poetry | Poetry | 9 | 0.53 | Aug 20, 2008 |
Summary:I am not a poet at all, but one of my characters is. He has a large role in book 2 and book 3. At the time in his life where he writes this poem, he is an abolute mess. His family was murdered, and he was beaten nearly to death. Before the tragedym he was a quiet gentle hearted artist, who wrote and sang songs for children in his spare time. Now he's unstable and a ittle psychotic.-------------------
Feel free to rewrite the poem if you'd like, as long as all his thoughts stay in it. I'm not talented enough to pull off poetry, and I want him to sound talented.Chapters: |
