Summary:

This is a novel I've been working on for almost two years. It's finished! But I'm now doing the hard work of heavy editing and finishing touchs. Jonah, the title character, is a 35-year-old man whose life suddenly begins to spiral out of control. His family, friends, and church are clueless about what haunts his memories and his present confusion. I created Jonah to be frustrating. He makes bad decisions, sometimes justifies his wrong actions, and lies; but he's also kind, loving, and really doesn't hurt anyone. Please be advised: There are some heavy, descriptive sex scenes. This is not an erotic story per se, but the sex is necessary to show the all too common secret lives of ordinary people. Tell me what you think as the chapters develop. It does begin with a prologue. I know the merits of prologues are debated here, but I feel it's necessary for my story. Not sure whether to just lump it with the first chapter or not to so look out for how I have to do it. Critique on my style, dialogue, and pacing are appreciated.
