Summary:An ABC Brisbane radio station - 612 4QR - is holding a competition, the prize being Books Alive! 50 Books You Can't Do Without! It's an Australian Government initiative to get people reading. The criteria was ONE paragraph, 100 word limit with the words - ALIVE - RADIO - BOOKS included in it. This is my entry! It's already gone so I'm putting it up here for a giggle. There's thousands of entries in and they've been reading some out every morning. Lots of them are very clever :) But I couldn't resist entering! Summary:I couldn't sleep; it's almost 2 am. This poem is the birth of an unquiet mind. Feel free to analyze, criticize, dissect, or whatever. Comments and suggestions are welcomed. I experimented with capitalization, some rhyme (maybe technically half rhyme, which I don't particularly like), and a little unintended alliteration. This was rather spontaneous, so it lacks polish.
