Bio: I retired early several years ago because of my former wife's fragile health. I like being retired! I have been a musician since I was 12 years old and performed 20 - 30 gigs monthly until 1990. I still write songs...lyrics and music and record in my small home studio. I started writing lyrics to songs in 1979. After several years of writing somgs I came to realize that, in most cases, a song is simply a book in a hundred words or less. In 1980, I started my first novel. I finished it in 2004! My writing has been more efficient since then. That novel has the working title of "Two Worlds Apart" and is an adaptation from a song that I wrote in 1979 called "Ode To Willie Brown". Since 2004, I have written 4 new novels. My biggest problem with writing books is the same as my lyrical writing...I am too darned eclelctic! I write music in almost every genre. My books follow that same path. Why? Because I write what the muse brings me. I do not try to force-feed an idea or genre. I retired from the U.S. Army in 1988 after 23 years. I spent 12 years in Germany (loved it!), a year in Japan and a year and a half in Vietnam. Just think of the frequent flyer miles I could have accumulated! I worked in the field of visual health for most of my Army career, except for my 16 months in Vietnam. My ex-wife is from Bakersfield, California. My son lives in the St. Louis area and my daughter lives on Hilton Head Island. My oldest son died in a car accident in 1985 in San Antonio, Texas. I write only novels. I cannot seem to get enough information into a short story. I have written almost no poetry at all, other than a few humorous pieces. I guess that's enough about me. I have been extremely fortunate to have lived around the world and have seen and done things that most folks will never have the opportunity to experience. I am humbled by those opportunities and I am so appreciative that they were given to me. Here's wishing everyone great success and enjoyment in your writing. For anyone interested, here is a player with about 150 of my 700 original songs I have written.
