| Bio: | I was born in Beaver Falls, PA, May 30, 1942 and grew up in Chicago, IL. I did my undergraduate work at Berkeley in English and Math. There, the University bought a youthful novel for the $500 Eisner prize and financed a trip to the Rocky Mountain Writers Conference. My Ph.D. is from the University of Chicago. I professed English at the University of Kentucky, and since not getting tenure, have pursued many careers—licit, quasi and il. After twenty plus years scraping by in Eugene, OR, my long suffering wife of 44 years and I returned to Chicago. Currently we take care of my 95 year old father and feast on Chicago’s cultural and culinary offerings. We have a 36 year old son who by turns makes us proud pursuing a post Neurology residency in Clinical Pharmacology and punishes us for our sins by parodying our bad habits back to us.
