| Bio: | I was born on Friday the 13th, so it kind of explains a lot of the bizarre events in my life. I've had a most extraordinary one, to be sure. Worked as an independent scriptwriter for television and movies for about 3 decades. Owner of Reel Character Productions. Over the years had the privilege to work with some of the great writers, artists, actors and directors of the 20th century. As for my writing personality, I'm into writing action "soft" sci-fi, fantasy, horror, thrillers, and police/detective stories and I love a good writing challenge even if it's not in my usual field. I'm not really good at recip reviewing, but harassing me by email generally works if I'm able to. My health these days doesn't really give me a choice sometimes. I will say that this site is worth the money. It took me a while to get over my writer's ego, but once I did, I think my work vastly improved. Since becoming a member here, I've published 2 novels (not self-published) and have been blessed to be included in 3 anthologies. Wrath of Angels, Blood Totems, Said and Unsaid, The Cloud and Zombies Ain't Funny. Some good publishing experiences, some not so good. But all a lesson learned towards attaining writer's Valhalla...LOL. My advice to new writers: never sign a contract until you've had it reviewed by a legit lawyer who knows about book contracts. Yes, you'll want to jump right in with excitement and joy, but DO NOT DO IT! Take the time to get it looked over by a lawyer. I can't emphasize this first step enough!!! Do it. No matter what else you have to sacrifice, DO IT. It will be the best investment you make when you sign a contract with a publisher. It's like insurance. Trust me on this. |
