Bio: Having self published his first three novels with Author House, Beyond the Memory of Man; WE,The Children of Gaea; and Return to Slayaria; Joe believes he has nearly perfected his craft with his fourth novel, The Sword of Itzamna - Vacant Petitioners. It is a tale based in a world full of separate and competing domains, each ruled in various ways by their resident deities/pantheons. The Sword of Itzamna is based in the Domain of itzamna, A domain ruled by a pantheon consisting of a conglomeration of central and south american gods all ruled over themselves by Quetzaquatl, or Kukulcan as some may know him. In the southern part of the domain mortals seeking to escape the fearsome rule of their own gods in the Domain of New Asgaard have spent the last hundred years trying to adjust to the very different climate and lifestyle of those living in Itzamna. The domain is named after the original god to have settled the domain, Itzamna. In mayan history he was a god of healing, serpents, peaceful times and others. On the world of Kole he completed a Lyr'marr given to him by the elder god of the world so that he could have a place for he and his brethren to settle. All pantheons have arrived in the same way. All with the knowledge that there existence would be a constant struggle for the dominion over the entire world. Every year more gods are banished from the world and a pantheon is made weaker. A neighbor senses that weakness and renews their war and the cycle continues throughout the ages until there is clear victor. At that time the Elder god will give over the world and depart. Life for mortals in this environment is not just dangerous, its frighteningly exciting. J.M. Barnes wants to begins a line of books based on this world and is seeking other Authors who would like to share in his vision.
