SAVAGE, GRACE ADVANCES IN COMPETITION
I just learned that my novel, SAVAGE GRACE, was named to the longlist in the 2007 UKA Opening Pages Competition. The link is http://www.ukauthors.com/modules.php?na … mp;pid=82.
The short list will be announced in January, and will be selected by crime writer Judith Cutler. The grand prize is publication.
Thanks to all my generous reviewers (and I do mean generous) who helped me spruce up my work. And wish me luck!
The other thing I should say about this competition is that I got a five-page critique for submitting my entry, emailed to me, and all the judges' (four) verbatims all for an entry fee of five English pounds. They also give you a sixty page primer on creative writing.
I'd encourage you to look into Opening Pages next year. It's held annually.

Thanks, Nadine. You are certainly welcome to read it. I still have three chapters to go until completion. But there's enough to sink your teeth into.

Good news, this is one I plan to get to before it is published. I think I read the short story with the same protag.
Go, eat your bread in gladness, and drink your wine in joy; for your action was long ago approved by God.

Congratulations! That's a huge honor! Way to go!
Okay, this is now turning into an issue, so let me put it in my sig file so everyone knows upfront: I don't read or review fiction that includes sexual violence. ] I just don't. I will fight my way through sexual violence in your memoir, but not in your fiction. I apologize in advance for anyone who is inconvenienced by this.
