This novel was, to the best of my knowledge, workshopped here, and was a finalist in an Amazon writing contest in 2008. It was published in 2011. I got the Kindle version for $1.99 and it was one of my best investments of the decade. Despite being rooted in hard science, its greatest value is as social science fiction in the venerable tradition of Mack Reynolds, but completely different from Reynolds. A very accessible read even for those who normally don't enjoy speculative stories.

I later bought a trade paperback so I could have it autographed. The form of autograph I chose is a label that can be sent through snail mail and stuck on the inner title page or cover.

Ug...I totally forget his TNBW pen name, but his published moniker is in the sig part of his forum posts on here. Maybe he'll pipe up and identify himself. Or maybe Jeni will.

Wow, this is the first time I've seen my name mentioned on the recommendations thread. Thanks, Hermine. And Jeni too.

Flowing pencil, my NBW name is worldbeat99. Most of my time at NBW has been spent developing THE HOPE STORE which I've entered
for the Strongest Start. Prospect of My Arrival was developed prior to that. I also worked on a short piece here called "The East Side Nurse Killer."

I'm in the process of a big restructuring of Hope Store. I'm kind of taking a cue from the Strongest Start, and looking to see that all of my chapters pull the reader forward, pull the reader deeper into the story. Generally I've been an outline kind of writer. But as I restructure, I'm allowing myself to take one chapter at a time, and then wonder what would be the most page turning, surprising, cool next chapter to follow it with. It's a bit scary for me, but I think it's the best way for me to proceed.

Oh for God Sake!... My other name is Emily Dickinson but I use Flowing Pencil most of the time! Used to use
"Red Hot Gramma" but got into too much trouble with my kids!.. . Therefore use "Lukewarm Tamale" but they still didn't talk to me!.. So now.. have decided to simply go with "Kyla"...

Good Grief! I just read something that sounded like it was written by Flowing Mouth but then I think she said red hot momma and then changed to Kyla? If this is true and if in fact Kyla is Irene and Irene is a Flowing Mouth in diguise, what oh what shall I do. Likely I'll have to find my way to Seattle and take along a bottle of wine for whats her name!

Ha.... start packin baby! And I don't mean a revolver!... You should see our dining room as it has a three man tent set up and and card table tent that is now covered in art done with multi-colored nail polish! Jack sleeps in tent! Maggie in homemade tent... I am on the couch and the only sane person is in the queen size bed! Though he has to take the two dogs and the kitten! Nana is biting on a bullet and eying a full flask of whiskey as Sciatica is murderous this time... Parents going to my son's concert tonight in Seattle and I couldn't divulge the misery I am in. Lightening/thunder storm last night so Jack up until 3am... yep! He likes to talk to me.. uh... at any hour..

Oh. the entire dining room table with extension is entire Lego City! While we are setting the final police car in place at the station.. "Ma?" "Yes Jack?" "When you 'pass' will you give me all the Legos?" "Pass?" What am I? Quarterback for Seattle Seahawks! When I "pass"... "die" "buy the farm" "bite the dust" "take my last sip of Pinot Noir." "ride off into the sunset" "roll my last meatball".... I didn't find the question very funny as I walked around with that ice pack on my arse, limping, as pain medication only took the edge off... I was thinking to myself as I smiled at this boy I adore.. "I show you "passing!"

Nana.. Ma... Gram.. Grandma. and my favorite.. "Yo"...

Good grief (and other appropriate words) You have a short story or a long poem all but finished in the above posting, Nana, Gram, Flowing tongue, and many others. It sounds like you're having a blast, and good on ya' girl.

I live in Chicago. Yes, mishmont and I had a nice lunch when she came into town. I get to meet a lot of fellow online writers cuz there
are a lot of literary events here.

I'm cranking on the editing of Hope Store for two upcoming contests. Unboxedbooks.com for Dec 1, 2012 and ABNA for January 2013.
