What promising Strongest Start entries have you read?

I know in some contests it's interesting to hear which novel entries people have found interesting, excluding our own of course.
It's a way to pass the time while waiting to hear who made the first cut.  And it's good karma to mention
entries by other writers that you enjoyed reading.  And its fun to see what other people are reading and what they like.
And it's a way to stay engaged with the other writers in the contest.  Community building and such.

I have read a few entries that have caught my eye.  Some had interesting voices or premises or characters.
So what Strongest Start entries this year have intrigued you?  (I'll put in my two cents a bit later.)

Hi Dwight. This is an excellent idea!  Here are the ones that I have read so far that I would vote as winners. And I am not finished yet!

The Muse of Blue Ruby
The Hope Store
Amazing Gracie
Witchblood
GIrls From the Trailer
Once Broken
A Queer Cae of Murder
Zombie A Rock
Tsiatko
A Gypsy Among Gypsys

And that is all I have (so far) for the top of my list.

Thanks for sharing your list, kyla.  Here are some entries I liked.

Catching Stars in A Jar.
Midnight Man.
Involuntary Revenge.
Catching Stars in Jars.
Moby's Dick.
Sparrow's Migration.
Boredom of the Gods.

Who else has some favorites to share?  Remember you get karma points!

Aw, thanks, Dwight. You're sweet. I really need to get to reading some of these entries. I'm treading water just to keep up with my onsight novels. smile

And I just started another WIP when I'm not done with the final draft of Moby's. (ADD, perhaps?)

Looking at those two lists of titles, I have to say, they're very intriguing.

I'm jotting down a note to set aside a few days to read SS entries, even if I can't review. I've heard there's some stiff competition! smile

Hi Jeni, nice to hear from you.  Yes, there are some  fun entries.  Many different styles.
These days I split my time between NBW and Scribophile.  I'm doing a big rewrite of a WIP.

Some of my favs so far:
Ghost Hand
The House on Miller Street
Mike Logan vs. The Crosstown Horde
The Girl with Green Hair
The Hope Store
Extractions
Here and There
Catching Stars In Jars
Wander
Higher Ground
Yeager's Law

ALL have great hooks and writing style is quick paced. Going to be very hard to pick top six, let alone one "Best".

Re: What promising Strongest Start entries have you read?

Thanks to those who shared their lists! I just added most of these suggestions to my reading list and devoured the first chapter of Amazing Gracie. I picked that first b/c I also have a Gracie character in my entry (Sparrow Migrations - thanks, Dwight) only mine is an infant.
Will post again when I have more to recommend.
Happy Fourth!
