Re: The Late Night Social Club
I am sick of my back corner booth. At least for now. Think I'll take it easy and sit at the bar with a bottle of Coppola's Chardonnay and unwind. The good cheap stuff....Ah!
The men in my life said we could do whatever I wanted to do on Ma's day. So, I took them to see Dark Shadows.
Quote from Dark Shadows...Michele Pheiffer interviewing Bella Heathcote
"Do you think the sexes should be equal?"
"Heavens, no! Men would become unmanageable."
Ha! That made me (literally) laugh out loud.
Although, The Avengers quote from RD,Jr. "OK. Shawarmas after." made me laugh, too. So, go fig. You never know what might tickle your funny bone!
Feel free to chime in with any Movie Quotes that made you laugh. I'm just gonna sit here and wine.
I mean, drink wine.

Karen! How the hell are you? I was just thinking about our sail trip and your diving! I was wondering where you were and what you've been up to. Glad to see your name in the old place. I don't think jb hangs out here much. Boy, do I miss his fish fries. What's new in your world?

Re: The Late Night Social Club
Hey girls!
I have no idea what I've been up to, other than busy busy busy. I spent a lot of weeks focused on outdoor work leaving me too tired to think.
We did spend ten days in Cozumel diving.... sigh.... Next year is Grand Cayman!
I am NOT going in that bathroom. There's a perfectly acceptable bush outside the back door.

Boo!
That's for anyone who just pokes their head in here.
I fell asleep in the back booth after mopping the bathroom. That's what I get for trying to spruce up this place. You'd think I'd have learned when I had the boys re-roof the place. Should have known. Cheap labor + cheap supplies = holes in a new roof. *sigh*
Pick up a glass. This round's on me. I'm getting my first royalty check! Woo-Hoo!

Jeanie, Hot double damn! Congratulations! And I wish you many more. That is so fine, now where can I find the published item? I have a habit of buying work published by tNBW'ers. Especially if they're as nice as you.
This place sure has a fresher smell over top of the stale beer odor. Thanks for cleaning up. I haven't been in here much lately. Lots of time at the river and even more time working on little projects. Good to see you here, especially if you're buying. Yeungling tall and cold for me. But you already knew that.

Re: The Late Night Social Club
One tall and cold one sliding your way, my friend.
My first royalty check is courtesy of a small indie house called Hance Publishing. One of my short stories was accepted for an anthology that was put together titled "The Memory Eater". It's kind of dark. Mine is one that falls in the 'humor' category.
I've been collecting rejection slips, but their numbers are very low. I haven't put forth enough effort to collect as many as I should. I keep promising myself I will.
You hanging out at the river this past summer is no surprise. With the postings you've been making, it was obvious. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.

j l mo,
Congratulations on your royalty check. I ordered a copy from Amazon. This anthology was such a great idea. I've really been looking forward to reading it.

Aww...thanks so much, Memphis. You and Jim are too cool. I believe mine is the shortest of the short stories in the whole thing. It warms the cockles of my heart to know my little silly tale is being read by you guys.
Bring your copies into Wiggy's and I'll autograph 'em for you. No additional charge! Ha!

Re: The Late Night Social Club
Okay the storm is over and thanks to my trusty crowbar the boarding is down. The roof held pretty well except for that spot over the hot tub. Good thing no one was sleeping there.
We have to get rid of all this beer, wine and liquor so that fresh stock can be put in. No telling what the effects of a hurricane will be on that old stuff. Drink up. It's all free today.
Carry on.

Jeannie, where would you like me to start back in reading/reviewing? I'm confused now.

Re: The Late Night Social Club
Karen! Thank you for asking. I wrote a prologue and made it C99. Or, if you want Just keep going from where you were. C05 was next I believe.
I went to a conference and met an agent. She asked me to send her my first 50 pages. My editor had gone through it to chapter 3, but I hadn't done anything with them. So, there was that. But then I wrote the prologue. Ta-Da! 50 pages. Gotta tell you I was blown away when she asked me for it.
Another round before the beer gets too stale to drink! Ha!
