It's very difficult, when you have expertise in a jargon-filled, technical field, to translate your knowledge into understandable English for people not in your field.  I have struggled in my own novel to make the law interesting, entertaining and accessible.

Tackling the sub-prime mortgage crisis is such a daunting task -- mortgage backed securities, the Glass Steagall Act, capital requirements... Yikes!  Enough to make anyone's head spin.

Jaames has done it.  Politics be damned.  He has taken the factors that he believes caused the 2008 meltdown and, in a detailed, cogent, and ultimately accessible series of articles, turned them into riveting reading.  http://www.thenextbigwriter.com/library … /toc/58051

You may not agree with his conclusions, assuming you have the depth of knowledge he has.  You might spot politics in his article that you don't agree with (whether he intended it or not), and you might think he is spotlighting certain offenders without spotlighting others.

But you can't deride the work he has poured into this three-part (soon to be five-part) series.  It reads to me like one of those CNBC "American Greed" exposes.

Not easy material, but fascinating stuff, well-organized and well-written.
