Overcome with remorse for thinking bad shit about all bureaucrats of the federal government. Had a very nice young man actually help me out today at the Social Security office. Inspired me to a poem which will be posted forthwith. Or tomorrow, whichever is sooner.
I'm celebrating by drinking beer that is heavily taxed by various government taxing thieves but wishing those taxes could be used to give Jason a bonus.

Well Valentine's Day is over and those that weren't careful might be calling it VD day. But most of us don't worry about that. Not at all.
Wednesday. A long walk, a light lunch, moderate imbibing.

Can we talk for a few minutes at our next meeting about this?
Therefore, what has been proposed above as a means of redirecting the development of postmodernity toward more livable, human dimensions is a heterotelic narrative transitivity—an active reimmersion of narrative in the social—which contrasts sharply with the autotelic concern for their own procedures and the hermetic intransitivity of modernist self-consciousness and late modernist self-reflexivity.

Sure. This would be a scintillating topic for discussion but I'd expect we'd need more than a few minutes on something as important as this. I'm certain Ms. Thatcher would want to weigh in as well as Mr. Roark. Max K. might want to add his own unique perspective. And I'll offer free drinks to anyone who can refute the proposal in a logical way.
Meanwhile I'm going to take a walk and think about the best way to tell the little story that's wandering around my mind.

Simple and nowhere near as important as Sharon's subject. So Sharon, may I buy you a drink? And we can ask jlmo to give up her dark corner of the cafe so you and I can chat privately...about what matters.
But we gotta make it quick cause I'm heading up to the woods in a couple hours and I won't be back for ten days or so.

Hey jlmo, My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter was here last weekend, running around singing "red solo cup, red solo cup" over and over. Now I know where she got the phrase. Ha! Just glad she's not aware of all the other lyrics. At least I hope not.
Now if I can charge up the Yeungling tap I'll fill my own red solo cup a couple times.
Damn quiet in here.

Re: The Late Night Social Club
So I missed the party here on St. Patrick's Day? But there was no party here, right? Sharon was the only one in the joint and she can be a party all by herself but come on, two comments, one song on the jukebox. Kind of sad. However, I read on another forum that tomorrow is the feast of St. Joseph. And said feast is a big party day in Italy. So I'm designating Wiggy's as an Italian joint and we're gonna eat some red-gravy pasta dishes, drink cheap Chianti and finish it off with a cannolli or two. Then we'll wash the whole thing down with thick black coffee. Yum. None of that sissified healthy stuff that big time chefs pass off as modern Italian cuisine. Nope. Okay I'm having one, maybe two more Yeunglings then I'm outta here.

Today, as far as I know, is still today. I celebrated the start of St. Joseph's day by getting stung by two wasps when I was in the shower. Keeping in mind old Joe's reputation for stoic acceptance I quietly finished my ablutions and only then let forth with all the invective and vitriol I could muster. Fortunately the wasps didn't get me on any vital place, just my legs. So I figured out where the critters were coming from. And after donning an appropriate bug killing outfit I proceeded to apply enough insecticide around the house to cause my neigbors to alert the EPA, TSA, Homeland Security and PETA.
Did I say I hate getting stung? I do, and I take it very personally.
Sharon, love your edit. It retains the spirit of my comment while reducing it to gibberish.
Okay, gotta go stir the tomato sauce and decant the Chianti.
Later.

I need Paradise Lost explained to me in one short sentence. A cliff note of the cliff notes.

Re: The Late Night Social Club
Sharon, "Paradise Lost in one short sentence."
God made a place even better than Vegas, but Adam and Eve wanted to know the odds which pissed God off so he banned them from the tables.
Too long, I know. God made Paradise, Adam and Eve messed up and God threw them out. The end.
That Milton poem, which I one time had to translate into Latin, is a nightmare. I hate it. I'd rather be stung by a wasp. By the way, are Mormons protestant or something else? I need to know.

I'm working on a short story called **Paradise Flossed**
Now for your question: Mormons are something else... No whackier than Catholics, or the Gluten-free. I love Mormons, mainly because I'm surrounded, and I ain't asking for trouble--Or massacre. They do creative things with macaroni.
Mostly, I love them because I don't have to fight them for the last beer. Like I do you.

Re: The Late Night Social Club
Thanks for the Mormon info. Since I posted that question I checked out a book on the subject. I was asking because, this is silly I know, I wanted to know how they would fill out a form that asked for religious preference. I've seen those forms and they usually say "Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Other" and you're supposed to check one box. So Mormons are other. Cool. I'm an other also. Although if they had a box that said None I'd probably check that. The book I got is called "The Mormon People" and it's quite interesting. Objective analysis of any religion is bound to turn up a few quirks that will cause head scratching and puzzled expressions. But that's okay.
Maybe with your short story adaptation of Milton's poem we can come up with a movie. It would be neat. Lot's of nudity, sinning in an original way, special visual effects. All the good stuff.
Okay time to get that Italian sausage cooking in the peppers and onions. Then some pasta. Cheese needs grating. Let's see. Salad. Okay almost ready. Need a beer now to cool off.
Later. jb

The damn Chianti cork gave me trouble so I just smashed the top off the bottle and ran the wine through a filter. No glass to cause internal injuries.
I often thought polygamy was a good idea but I could never afford it. All my wives would have to be stay-at-home moms. Maybe if I got a bunch of working wives then I wouldn't have to work. And wives 2-4 could do the chores. You could do the other stuff.
