Re: How about we collect some of our poetry together for a 2nd book!!!
I think...no...I think I will keep that to myself. ![]()
I do have a question, though--simultaneous submissions, OK, or not?
Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested: that is, some books are to be read only in parts, others to be read, but not curiously, and some few to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention.

I love this piece but didn't think humor was wanted.
I have seen some of my all time favorites pieces in the submissions!!!!! Yeah..
Kiwi... You have a slew of great pieces!
Well, the theme (well, sort of theme) is supposed to be poems you can be proud of, ones you think that can stand up to critical review by the readers and critics. You can be proud of having a sense of humor, of being able to make others laugh or smile while still being artful and serious about the quality.

Sorry to make you work so hard. I have considered the 'List,' spoken with a friend and this is my final answer:
THE POEM - A humble tribute to the creative process.
ALWAYS IS FOREVER - Thinking of a loved-one who has 'moved on.'
WHERE WOULD I BE? - A traditional sonnet. Some thoughts about life and love.
JUSTAPOSITION - A crazy mixed up world.
And finally THE CHELSEA PENSIONER - A salute to my uncle Charlie and all the courageous men who fought in the trenches of World War One.
Spargo, I thank you for your time, effort and consideration. I hope these selections are suitable. All the best.

Hi Spargo,
we are getting closer to the deadline and I just wrote a new piece that is getting really good reviews and it has been suggested that I pass it on to you for the second book. So, as we are limited to five-please take 'Always is Forever' off the list and substitute 'The Shore'. Thanks, hope you are well. All the best. I will email it to you.

I'll be submitting some of what I think are my best poems this weekend, if not sooner. I think they fit the guidelines, which are reasonable, IMO.

Great.
I've been trying to read through the workshopped poems being submitted one poet at a time. When you post your list, I can go back and put them in my read file.
And yes, jpb, that's why you were getting reviews on old poems... ![]()

I read through the list SPargo sent me.
I haven't hit the ones on this list.
Kydd, I'm trying to decide on whether I should put in After I Killed God or if I should magazine shop it first when I'm done editing.

Shopping it would take a while. It's usually weeks before you hear back. The deadline for vol. 2 is December 1.
I guess it's up to you if you want to wait and insert it in vol. 3.

If it doesn't get printed this Volume, I won't fall on my sword. I just don't feel the poems I have picked out are really great, you know?
Sigh.

Re: How about we collect some of our poetry together for a 2nd book!!!
I've got some new ones that I like better than the ones I submitted, but my new ones haven't had time to really get reviewed adequately--plus, I haven't had time to let them mature yet.
Since we're supposed to be submitting already workshopped stuff anyway, my new stuff doesn't really qualify. It's been rough going through the list and checking each one as to whether it's been workshopped or not and whether it's had time to be 'tuned-up'.
As for my own, I don't remember submitting all those titles for Spargo. Poor man.
. I'm a hypocrite, because I've been complaining about others who have thrown in their entire body of work since grade school... hehehehe. Honestly, next time I'll pick five and two alternates. That's it.
Damn wishy-washy poets... oh wait, that's me too! ![]()

Hi Spargo,
I would like to revise my original list of submitted poetry.
Of the five submitted for consideration, I would like to replace Fear the Ocean with She's Gone, leaving Fear as an optional submission.
Revised List;
Strength to watch an old man die
A Child
unknowing
Demons
She's Gone
Thanks so much for all of your hard work and consideration.

Re: How about we collect some of our poetry together for a 2nd book!!!
Hope I'm not too late; I am writing poetry again; a Writer's Dash did the trick, and i want to gather some of mine for the anthology. Can anyone give me suggestions; those who have read my stuff. What would they include in a "Best of Rhiannon's poetry." From the intellectualism of the critics of my "Nothing Like a Gander," it goes in. But I am not the best judge of the quality of my own stuff. (Who of us are? lol) Thanks in advance. And if I am too late for the 2nd book, I will definitely not miss the 3rd!
