eBook samples
I was hoping someone could explain how the sample system works for Kindle, or ebooks in general? I am about to put out a novella and I was thinking about having the people who formatted it send me a separate file with the first chapter, so I could give it away for free.
But I've heard people say Amazon lets them sample 10%. So does Amazon do this automatically? If so, where do I find the samples? I've searched all over the amazon page for Kindle samples, and can't come up with anything.
If anyone could help me, or even just point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Re: eBook samples
For Smashwords ebooks, I know the writer chooses how much is free for review. They suggest 30%. That gets you through all the info pages to some of the content.
I've been happy with that.
