Seeking In-depth Review Exchange
Seeking in depth reviewers for: Who's Your Paddy? a 75,000 word work of women's fiction in the last stages of editing. It is a light, breezy, chick-lit styled novel set to the backdrop of Irish culture. The novel takes place in both America and Ireland, (mirroring the culture of the two main characters) and does contain a romantic theme.
Here is the current query:
Annie Zwick wants to be famous reporter. Tapped to write a human interest piece about Saint Patrick's Day for the Arizona Sun, she finds more fame than she seeks. In an Irish pub called The Harp and Piper, Annie discovers a ragtag group of Irish immigrants who band together to protect one of their own: her main source, Liam Murphy.
Annie must befriend him to get her story, but Liam has other ideas. Charismatic and irresistible, she finds herself falling for him. That isn't all she finds. A guarded history, an aversion to the press, and an idyllic home in Dublin that sits empty. It's only when Annie makes her way to Ireland that she gets her answers. But she also discovers the consequences of becoming part of her own story.
Who's Your Paddy? is a tale of love and redemption where success is no longer measured by getting the headlines, but with finding a way to survive them.
************************
I'm seeking 2 broad-base style reviewers looking for similar to complete a full and timely swap.
Focus to be on: story arc, pacing, character dev, plot and continuity.
Seeking:
1. Writers similarly skilled so the reciprocal work is as equal as possible.
2. Similar style, but genre is less important as long as mutually determined and agreed.
3. Completed works only.
4. Willing to work on or off TNBW site, but on-site chapter by chapter blurbs will be included for mutual benefit.
5. Time and pace to be mutually determined. However I am looking to begin immediately and work as swiftly as work/life issues allow.
6. Fair, objective, in-depth analysis.
Not interested in:
1. Rewriting each others work.
2. Unqualified responses (i.e. 'your plot needs work' without examples).
3. Inability to be objective.
4. Inability to accept critique.

Re: Seeking In-depth Review Exchange
I've read a couple other writers on TNBW's full books and gave them notes on it. I don't know how much help that was to them.
I don't mind doing that for you if that works for you but I don't really have anything for you to read right now.
Let me know. I can read most books in a weekend and type of up notes of the overall arc, character development and reading satisfaction.
But if you want me to read the whole thing, can you send it to me in a Word file? I can put the notes in the file.
It's easier.

Re: Seeking In-depth Review Exchange
I'm more than willing to do it offline in a word file. If you don't mind doing mine now and having me do yours when it's ready, I'm game. I've read enough of your snippets over time here that I'm comfortable there won't be any major reasons I can't do the same for you. Pop me an email (listed in my previous post) and we'll discuss it there.
Thanks Tirz!

Re: Seeking In-depth Review Exchange
I got your email but no manuscript. Do you think you'll be able to send it this weekend? Because after Sunday, I'm not free again for two weeks.

Re: Seeking In-depth Review Exchange
Linda, do you still need someone to exchange with? I'm looking for fresh eyes on The Evolution of Janie. I work much faster in Word and if you send as a word file I can make comments as I go along. Let me know if you would like to exchange

Re: Seeking In-depth Review Exchange
Ang, I remember reading quite a bit of that story when you first started posting it. As I recall, I loved the stuff I did read. No idea why I stopped, but I suspect it was an overloaded obligation plate.
Yes I am still looking. Tirz has kindly agreed to read mine without having something to swap at the moment, so I am still open to 2 people. Send me an email if you don't mind and we can talk about what kind of review you are looking for and figure out the logistics of the swap.

Re: Seeking In-depth Review Exchange
Hi, Linda. I sent you an email at the above listed email address with my qualifications. Would love to do some exchange editing outside TNBW as this would be faster and to the point. I've been mostly copy writing for marketing all these years. I began fiction a couple of years ago. Have paid all sorts of dues, followed courses and am presently working with Long Ridge Writer's Group on a one-on-one effort with a long time editor/author. Anyway, from what I have read of your book, our writing style is similar. Let me know. My book is Ava Moss, a category romance and although it is a finished manuscript, I have posted 5 chapters on TNBW.
