Okay. I'm here to vent a bout some "real world" angst.
BITE ME!
Just shut up already. I'm sick as hell of the constant pissing and whining. Not to mention the paranoid ranting. (Not my ex)
My week has been utterly ruined. You humiliated me in front of people you'll never see again, but that I count as friends. What kind of bullshit is this?
Of all the maladjusted rude, self-centered behavior I've ever witnessed, this is in the top fucking five! But I'll forgive and forget just like I always do. And you'll do it again, just like you always do.
UUUUUUUUUUUgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a load of rat shit!
Why can't I just tell people to go fuck themselves like a normal person.
Now, here I am canceling plans to sit at home and do nothing, and neglect everyone else. Because there isn't room for other people in this friendship.
Okay, I feel a little better now.
Not much.

Actually, it's not "he" it's a friend for about 20 years now (a she). She came to visit for the week and part way into it, I wanted to move out of my own house.
LOL! I dropped her off at the train station this morning. Small doses. That's the trick.

Image of a good critique: the artist and her critic stand together, examining the work. Both know the critique is in the service of making the work better. Both know the critique is of the work, not its maker. The critic is tryiing to improve the artist's work, not make it her own. The artist is wiling to let her defenses down and hear what's being said.
Too bad the fuckers (on both sides) don't get it. Shit on their heads.

Actually they were bad because they didn't perform what they were passed through the first round for and that was playing the violin very well - all three of them. They were panned for doing a poor imitation of a strip show rather than a highly skilled musical act which is their talent. The judges come down hard on lots of acts whether singing, dancing, whatever when they don't measure up to the previous performance or to others in the contest. They've called other people the "worst in the world" so it has nothing to do with bad mouthing strippers; they bad mouth the act no matter what it is; that is what they get paid for and the audience obviously wants to see. Now if they came on originally as Gypsy Rose Lee and did a bang up job then they might have gotten a better review - I'm pretty sure they would from the Hoff, lol. Take care. Vern

Well, I guess I just got told.
They were panned because they reminded two of the judges--Sharon and Hasselhoff--of strippers.
Pierce didn't make that invidious comparison. He thought their singing was bad--was incredulous that they would even attempt high G. And yeah, their singing could be used in Psy-war, right up there with lambs screaming.
Hoff was probably jerking off at them. He has a video where he goes around hustling women--getting them into his car. And he has the nerve to put down strippers.
If they came on as Gypsy Rose Lee then they'd better get a great rating.
I was venting, Vern. Women do that. We rant when we're tired. Try working your tail off on your job, naked, with the A/C on high; your back aches from walking funny on high heels and your boobs hanging out without benefit of a bra, you have to smile sweetly as people insult you, you come home to relax and you hear your occupation being used as a negative benchmark. And this is at 2:30 in the morning. Then tell me you wouldn't vent.
Let's just concentrate on what we can agree on: if you sing like a lamb is screaming, when you've specifically told to play the violin instead, you deserve to lose.

Well, yes, I understand you were venting - and it's not just a woman thing BTW - and I wasn't exactly telling you off, merely clarifying the situation which at times gets a bit warped in a vent. There is nothing wrong with your occupation and no one here would even know what it is if you didn't tell us. Some occupations, say used car salesmen, politicians, televangelists, etc. to include strippers, get panned quite frequently, and that's just human nature reacting to stereotypes. And you over reacting to anything said about strippers is your personal choice and may say something about your own perceptions, but it doesn't apply to every male on the planet and every comment about strippers is not a personal attack on you unless you deem to see it that way.
If you watched the show, then you should know that the dancing grandma was panned in the same fashion for trying to go from a very entertaining dancer the first time around to a Vegas show girl the next time. She is a good dancer, but she is not a show girl and she got panned for it. It is the acts which introduce the "stripper element" not the judges per se. They have had "stripper" (male and female, straight and hard to tell, lol)acts on the show before and some have gotten good reviews and passed through several times, but ultimately were not a "million dollar act" as is pointed out very often to "all categories" and the judges have come down far harder many times and never referred to "stripper" when it was not an element of the act.
I've been to numerous "strip clubs" and yes, there may well be a lot of crude/rude remarks made, but then that is where the money comes in, isn't it. I have never been rude to any of the dancers, but have certainly been proposistioned many times and "encouraged" to pay for one more lap dance, etc, lol. And quite frankly most of the "girls" I've talked to while they worked the tables between dances were/are pretty happy with and accepting of their jobs. They realize they are there to entertain the men - and women - and drain their wallets of as much money as possible whether through buying more beer, lap dances, stuffing g-strings, VIP room visits, or whatever method works.
And yes, I do understand that all the girls are individuals and have their own ways of looking at things, and quite a few profess to be college students (a good tactic, true or not) but none of them spout venom at men on the job, quite the opposite. So exactly where and from whom is the hypocrisy coming from. You chose the job for the money and the money comes because of the men you seem to abhor. Lots of people don't like their jobs, but do them because they need the money. No one is judging you for doing likewise other than maybe yourself and you make your judgement quite obvious. And BTW, every club I've been in has bouncers to prevent unwanted harassment or groping of the girls. They are not used very often.
If I met you on the street, I would be cordial regardless of whether I knew you or what you do. If I met you at the Masters Club in Myrtle Beach, I would still be cordial and I would know what you do. I do not judge you or anyone because I am not qualified. Neither are you. Take care. Vern

Never meant to imply that anything I said applied to every male on the planet. I feel a liitle like Professor Gates at the moment. You get tired of the stereotypes. It does feel like a personal attack sometimes. Most of the time I take it, but sometimes I explode. I guess you feel you were in the line of fire this time. Sorry!

All right! All right! ::she said, ducking her head and throwing her hands up protectively:: It's a good show, Vern. That's why I TiVo it. Just needed need that set of comments at that time.
I've been to numerous "strip clubs" and yes, there may well be a lot of crude/rude remarks made, but then that is where the money comes in, isn't it.
Sometimes, that's why on the job I smile real big like it is so wonderful to hear such a crude remark. Oh, wow, you came all this way to insult me. Can't you see I love you? But it might prevent some other girl who doesn't have the benefit of a burly bouncer at home from being beaten up. And it's my job. And other jobs are like it. I have a friend who works as a guard in a jail. We swap stories about abuse.
I have never been rude to any of the dancers, but have certainly been proposistioned many times and "encouraged" to pay for one more lap dance, etc, lol. Vern~the 'quite frankly' was uncalled for. We all realize we're there to entertain you guys and through all of those methods you mention. Some girls, uh, go farther than that. If you want to start me venting again, bring up hand job lady and blow job lady.
We all accept our job, but if you want to hear real venting listen to us in the dressing room.
I sometimes forget how all of this seems to my square friends, and I count, with some exceptions, the people here as friends.
And yes, I do understand that all the girls are individuals and have their own ways of looking at things, and quite a few profess to be college students (a good tactic, true or not) but none of them spout venom at men on the job, quite the opposite. There you go, Vern~"quite a few profess to be college students (a good tactic, true or not).
Yes, I chose the job, and yes, as I said, I forgot that I wasn't among friends and vented.

I'll try toning it down. I've joined a stripper forum. We all got some good vents in after the "America's Got Talent" show. It wasn't just me. None of this is just me.
And I do apologize for piggy-backing on your vent about your job. That was your time to rant.
I started a rant page on the stripper's forum and it was so popular, they re-titled it, at my suggestion "the public rant."
I did ask if it was all right to rant in this forum.

I see if I can be so sweet around you and Vern that you will be put into a diabetic coma.
Why dear, they didn't have the food you liked at the hotel, after flying you down there and giving you first class accomodations? Why you poor dear. Do you think you'll ever quite recover? ::she clasps her friend's hand tenderly in compassion::
I have food issues. I've never denied it. I also said the hotel was fantastic. The service was great. Plus, I came back later and said that the Gotham Steak house was the best I've ever had.
I was just saying I was starving and tired of fish and pasta for the catered events.
It was one post.
I haven't put it on every post I've every placed on here.
I don't want to fight with you.
I deleted my original post because I realized this wasn't the right forum for it. This is supposed to be a safe place to vent. I deleted to keep that safe place that Rian created.
I hate confrontation.
But everything is a fight with you.
You are determined to be the victim. You cast yourself in that light in almost every post.
Now, I'm feeling sick because I hate fighting.
You are the only one in here that cares that you are a stripper.
I'm sure your job is trying and difficult.
And the occassional rant about it is fine.
But does it have to be in everything you say? Is that all you are?
I never get to know you at all.
Stripping seems to be all you have because it's all you talk about.
Anyway, I apologize for interrupting Rian's forum.

My point is that you have a right to do it. And to expect respect for what you are going through. I just want the same respect. I don't make it as issue--it's not just me. I've talked to my friends and have joined the stripper forum. They all tell me that their square friends have about the reactions that you do. I said, 'oh, no, it's different in my case.' Well I was wrong.
I don't want to fight with you.

Not so sure about that. Again, though, I've been told I would get that from square acquaintances. They'll tell you they don't have the problem, it's you, Rhiannon

Thank you. As I say, I've found a forum with sisters who understand me.
But does it have to be in everything you say? Is that all you are?
No, I like pina coladas; walks in the rain; I'm not into jazz; I am into champagne. Okay, jokes aside, what do you want to know about me?
I never get to know you at all.

Re: %$@! Bleep Zone (Come on in and shout a few expletives)
What do I want to know?
I don't know, exactly.
What books are you reading?
What did you dress up as for your nine age Halloween?
Favorite movie?
Did you paint your living room blue? Why?
Did the weird lady at the grocery store put two avacados in her pockets and walk out?
I'd like to know something besides your job.
Your job isn't all you are.
It isn't all I am.
And I work very hard at my job, just like you work hard at yours. You don't need to be snide about it. Yes, my work sent me to Miami for WORK. I wasn't on vacation.
You always seem to sneer at my job. My stresses aren't the same as yours on the job but I work just as hard in another way.
Anyway, I'd like to know the person, not the job.

Right now, a murder mystery called The Dead Place Just finished an anthology Bark 'M' for Murder about murders with dog detectives. Cute.
What did you dress up as for your nine age Halloween?
[b]A fairy princess. Appropriate, huh?[b]
Favorite movie?
Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds
Did you paint your living room blue? Why?
[b]Now, we're getting personal. A girl's gotta have some secrets from the world. LOL
Did the weird lady at the grocery store put two avacados in her pockets and walk out?
It was parakeets, but yeah.

I don't sneer at your job. I don't even know what your job is, only that it sends you to Miami in hotels. I work sometimes in hotels too. I only said what I said to show that we are both in the same boat. There isn't a difference in that respect between you and me.
Anyway, I'd like to know the person, not the job.
I think we've made a good start. ![]()

Thanks for sharing, Vern. But give me a list of the TV shows you don't want knocked. I promise not to pan World Wide Wresting for sure.
I don't have any TV shows which you are not free to knock as much as you wish. I wasn't trying to protect the show or any show, just commenting on the situation as presented. Knock WWW all you wish. I haven't watched that since I was a kid and didn't realize it was all fake. In fact I don't watch any pro sports any more other than golf where they don't normally gripe about being underpaid while doing drugs, going on strike, and fighting jail sentences, lol. Still you're free to bash golf if you desire; I don't/won't consider it a persoanl attack.
You are free to rant about anything you wish, but then others are also free to make comments. They are not attacking you - I'm certainly not - just making comments as we do about almost any subject that is brought up in the forums. Read the "discussions" in all the forums - are we attacking someone everytime we respond to what is said? I don't think so. Maybe you do, who knows. Strippers are people doing their job just like the rest of the world for the most part; sure some people will make snide remarks, but then some people will do that regardless of your occupation, sex, skin color, nationalilty, or whatever.
Some people are just jerks and it doesn't matter if you are a stripper or a saint. Just as you shouldn't take ever negative comment in a review about your writing as a personal attack, the same holds true for remarks about your chosen profession. I recently started working in a brewery and I'm sure there are a lot of teetotalers who frown upon that, but does it make a damn to me. Not. People work in abortion clinics, in the nuclear power industry, logging industry, slaughter houses, insurance, used car lots, and all sorts of other trades which some people have problems with. Well it is their problem, not the workers unless they choose to stress out about it.
I don't care if you are a stripper or Mother Theresa or if you want to rant every minute of your life about your job or anyone who makes a comment about it. If anyone on this site makes a comment and I have something to say on the subject, then I will in all llkelyhood respond, but I do not do so to attack anyone or to be rude. We can all get testy on occasion regardless of occupation or anything else. That is human nature. It is not limited to one person, or one group, or one job; it is universal. We can accept that at times, there will be things said, generalizations made which we might percieve as personal, but in the vast majority of cases they are not.
And if I did not like strippers, I would not pay the outrageous prices to drink beer and socialize with them, lol. I enjoy conversations with many of them; some are very intelligent and well versed. In essence, I see a person not a stripper; most see themselves the same way; stripping is just a job like any other. Hopefully, you'll accept that some day. Take care. Vern

I can't believe anyone believes it. But I met this one guy who looked at me with doe eyes (I was on the job) and said, "Did you know that there are real matches on wrestling?" I smiled and went "No, I didn't know that." He told me all about "shoot matches." Paid me fifty dollars to listen to that.

Not everyone is as articulate as you are Vern, or aware of what they say. There are subtexts. I know other people who haven't told about their jobs here for fear of negative reactions.

You work in a brewery. And here I thought I was talking to a real guy. Now, I have to dismiss everything you say. LOL Point made. Did I make mine?

No, you're one of the good guys, Vern. Even if you do work in a brewery.
Is it really true that guys who work in a brewery have really big penises? And can give a woman multiple orgasms while holding their breath? Can I see your penis? Show it to me, right now! (hope that wasn't too heavy-handed)

Yeah, I know. Most guys come in just talk. LOL Actually, that's toften rue. Nude conselling. It's amazing what guys will tell you about their problems when you're naked. May create a sense of intimacy, or something.

I can't speak for others who work in a brewery, only for myself and I suppose any reference to size is relative to what you are used to and how it is used. I'll let others speak to that should they desire; at least I'm satisfied, however you wish to interpret that, lol.
I didn't say I ONLY talked and my talking isn't about my problems though I do know some who do that, lol. I'm versatile, lol. Now, back to golf. Take care. Vern

Well, when I see the member in question, the guy is usually occupied doing something that guys never admit to. Creates an artificial perspective. LOL

Funny. Golf just came on my TV. Switched it to something more wholesome--true crime. Less boring, anyway. Golf is very boring to watch, although I'm sure it does something for those engaged in it.
