Re: secrets in common
I don't think "secrets in common" is an oxymoron; any group of people, i.e., a community, can share a secret. Or, if a secret is by its nature a thing of exclusivity, your phrase, while perhaps ironic, is mostly poetic, and quite lovely, I think.
The saint answered: "With singing, weeping, laughing, and mumbling do I praise the God who is my God." / When Zarathustra was alone, he said to his heart: "Could it be possible! This old saint in the forest has not yet heard that God is dead!"

Re: secrets in common
Late to the game, but actually secrets can be held in common amongst a group of people, no precise number limit on such a group which might hold "secrets in common." Sounds like you're good to go on all fronts, but we'll just keep that a secret in common to this thread. Take care. Vern

Re: secrets in common
I like the maxthemoron word best, but I agree with everyone else - secrets in common isn't an oxymoron (why is oxygen a moron?)

Re: secrets in common
The difference, of course, is that any secret held in common doesn't stay secret for long. Somehow that circle of commonality keeps growing.
