Hey Ya'll from OK!

Hello!

I joined the site a couple of days ago and have had a great time reading and reviewing your creations.  I started writing poetry in kindergarten when I figured out words rhyme and moved on to music in jr. high.  A few years ago my family hit the road and lived in an RV for a year.  Without my trusty keyboard and a way to expel all those artistic juices, I delved into other ways to depressurize my creative Vesuvius before my family dissolved into ash under my frustrated eruptions.  I started blogging about our travels and found I liked to write stuff that didn’t rhyme too.  I’d had ideas for books before, but who just sits down and writes a book?  I did.  It’s terrible.  But my friends enjoyed it and one day I will rewrite it and maybe try to publish it.
I had another idea for a book (actually I have a whole folder full of ideas) that I just had to get out of my head.  Bing, bang, boom…here I am.  Tada!!!  It’s completely outlined and I’m halfway through writing it and would love some feedback.  Friends are great, but they don’t want to hurt your feelings.  I guess I’m a little masochistic….wait, maybe that's not the word I'm looking for.
Anyway, I’m about to post the first chapter of my book, The Fate War:  Alliance.  I would characterize it as LIGHT steampunk with a touch of sensual romance, a fun little jaunt into a parallel world of arranged marriages, sword fighting, love, and of course lots of cool gadgets.
I look forward to hearing from you all.

I am however having a problem posting the chapter.  I click the word icon and no window pops up.  My text appears in the original box without pasting, all messed up.  Suggestions?  Hints?  (never mind it's working now!!!)

Thanks!
Bimmy

Welcome bimmy,

Wow what a hippy you must be? That sounds fun roaming your country in an RV.
I just know you'll get what your after here, honesty is in abundance here; (and talent, I feel like one of those little Ramora fish that feed of the scraps around a sharks mouth.)
I here ya about family, they can never give you a totally independent review.

Good luck

Hi, bimmy! Your novel is absolutely charming, and this is coming from someone who hates to read. (Hangs head in shame.)

Hey D,

You have no idea.  We now live in the middle of nowhere trying to build a self sustaining farm.  We currently have two endangered heritage breeds of live stock and hope to add more soon.  I also home school and I'm currently not wearing shoes....

Hope you'll share the scraps!!!

Re: Hey Ya'll from OK!

Shine the Light! Kinda like The Goodlife, from the uk? Hey you'd love New Zealand, we moved here 3 years ago wow, it's like stepping back in time, 30 years, in a sweet naive way. My friend has a small farm, keeps those black n white walking pattie things, don't know the model.
Sounds real sweet, I can dig the no shoes, the kids here often go to school barefoot, straight up.
But me.,..I'm so laid back I don't look at my feet on an escalator. and I once sat with my back to the meter in a taxi, even though I'm Scots.

Hope to get the time to dead your work....man.

Cheers

Hey Bimmy, I feel for you. We've kinda been executive gypsies over the last few years - we've dragged our toddlers from the UK to Amsterdam to Canada and in the next two weeks to Germany! No RV though! :-)

I'll take a look at your creation shortly.

Re: Hey Ya'll from OK!

WOW!  You guys make me so jealous.  If we had the means, my husband would show us the world.  He was in the Navy and pretty much saw it all.  I believe that’s where he acquired his gypsie spirit.  I guess mine was dormant, but awakened with my love for him.  Now that our kids are older though, we’re trying to settle down so that they can make friends and do “normal† stuff.  I’m telling ya’…..†normal† ain’t my style…but I’m trying……man.

Re: Hey Ya'll from OK!

Don't be jealous - with kids in tow it's down right exhausting! Not that I regret a minute of it of course! :-)  If we'd had the chance before kids I think we would have globe trotted for years and years. Like you though, I wanna settle soon for the kids sake.

Lucky old us we can all travel to far more magical places at any time with a simple old pen/keyboard! (cheesy but true!)
