Louisa May Alcott's Little Women
I went to Alcott's house (Orchard House) today and walked around the place. Lots of pictures on the old walls, beds made, nobody home. Bowls of apples, a nice desk but a tad small. Crocheted bedspreads and table covers. A dry sink. Picked up a few books on the way out. Susan Cheever has a new book out about the Alcott's. Interesting stuff about the transcendentalists and Emerson, next door neighbor Hawthorne. Old Mr. Alcott was quite the different drummer. Couldn't get out of the red.

Re: Louisa May Alcott's Little Women
Sounds like you had a lovely day!
It must have been so cool to get an up-close look into the Alcott's lives.
