Too much face? It does have the hoodie. I can't make it any more shadowed. But if this won't work I can try a couple of other issues.

No, this will work just fine, for the "one who's different" but wondering how you'll tag it to the "Is he man or angel" text. Do you have just a silhouette (shadowed) angel pic? How about this...

I have this statue (and it's counterpart) on my mantle. What if you shadowed the image out so all you see is the silhouette and put a firey background behind the shadow? I don't think it would be a problem legally, because it's a fairly generic pose and without any detail, you couldn't attribute it to the original.

Might not work but I'll try. And I'll see if I have a similiar angel stock photo. That way the rights are absolutely clear.

I'm on four but I wouldn't turn down five.

I rather liked hoodie boy. I had to play with the light a lot to get it this shadowed. The original picture is overeposed. The excess light is why I can't darken it more without him looking freaky (not in a good way. But I thought this lloyd would be more to your taste. Tougher, more melancoly.

Hi, Tirz, I gather you don't want to show a true "face" but it would be more eye catching imo if you at least showed something recognizable AS a "face" (in a Gestalt way at least) even if not a recognizable one. The mind will fill in lots of parts as long as you have the essense of a face kind of llke those images posted on the internet with "faces" of "Jesus" in a potato chip or tree or whatever.

The vivid color grabs you as is, but that extra bit would make it even more dramatic imho. Just my two cents. Very good job. Take care. Vern

You notice I put the feet together so that it looks like Jesus feet on the cross. They are one on top of the other to form the bottom of a T. And the wings to me look as though he's pulling free of the suck of the flames.

I have a very very specific face that I imagine when I see the character, but others who have read it see someone slightly different. To put a face to the character kind of ruins that imagination option for making the character the hero you see him to be. At least, that's my thoughts on it.

Listen, I was contacted today by a friend who runs a HUGE sci-fi convention after she saw the book cover and draft trailer. She wants me to be a guest author at the con in the fall of 2011, just based on the anthologies I'm already in. Which means if I could get this onto a DVD, we can run it in the dealer's room (which means you need a credits frame on it). I plan to promote The Cloud for Odin et al. and Greg's Zombies Ain't Funny if I agree to do it.
